Just total pain from all the mistakes all series. But if they resign Soto they have some openings in the lineup and rotation they can be really good.
The Judge error is an inexcusable mental error and lapse of focus. The Volpe error is a bad physical error combined with mental where he just pussy armed the ball to 3rd and aimed it. Not an easy angle though. The Rizzo groundout is just wtf? Cole probably has to try to cover but he probably figured that big dumb oaf is 5 steps from the bag, there’s no way he doesn’t get there in time.
The crazy thing about the PFP was that Cole KNEW he had to get to first. He was well on his way and just stopped. He should have just continued running. There isn't a rule about both players not being able to be within 5 feet of the bag. Frustrating loss because a 5 run lead with Cole should be a win. Crazy to think they lost both starts with Cole on the mound and that was their biggest advantage going into the season.
Agreed but I still don’t get why Rizzo didn’t play that ball as a take it yourself. It’s like he was trying to avoid having a Bill Buckner moment.
Should have had game 1, and should have won last night. Horrible way to lose the series. But hey, let’s try Nestor , no better time to test those waters . And that defensive 5th was one of the most wtf innings I’ve ever seen. But atleast the jets are on tonight. Oh wait.
It’s hard to seperate that we’ve wanted Boone fired for years. But ignore that for a second. How do you bring him back after game 1 and that performance yesterday? Add in Volpe not scoring on that double, getting picked off like 3 times in 2 games (forget if it was the Indians or Royals series), the egregious use of the 7 relievers in game 3 (down 3-0 and 4-0 all game long) that lead to us a beaten down pen in game 4 and 5.
Same. Took a long time to get there and they shit the bed. Also don’t trust that the current brass knows how to fill holes and build a team like they used to:
5 unearned runs has me keep coming back for some reason. Still totally defeated it actually helps watching the Jets.
