Shut out in 2 of the 4 games they have played. Thanks Lou. On the plus side they have picked up at least a point in 3 of the 4 games. A 1-1-1 road trip isn't that bad. Win Saturday night at home vs Montreal and the Isles 2-1-2 record will actually be a decent start.

This team is just underwhelming. I don’t think there is any coaching that could make this roster more than it is.

If you’re trailing the isles in the last few minutes you have them right where you want them.

3 shutouts in 6 games. There is no route to improving the roster. The only option is tear it down, starting with the GM who refused to accept what we all knew years ago, that a complete rebuild was the only route to success with a real chance of working.

The fans know what Lou and/or ownership don’t seem to know — there is no upside to this roster.

UBS is a very nice place to see a hockey game, but that's a good enough reason to attend a game once - after that, you're there to see the team play. And it's hardly surprising that attendance would be poor at the beginning of the season for a team coming off a disappointing season. Just ask the Mets - their attendance was disappointing all season, well into September. Why? Because people didn't believe that that their success wasn't just a mirage. Combine it with high prices for seats, food, and parking, and why would people want to go?

Considering that this team has no future as currently constituted (including the GM), I expect attendance to get worse before it gets better. Imagine what attendance will be like in February with a team as boring and as bad as this?

went up 3-0 in the first period and then allowed 6 goals in a row... reminds me of another team I root for

Until Lou is gone there is nothing to get excited about with the Islanders. Sad to say that but it's true.

I'm down now to one game a year (unless someone offers me a free ticket), when my wife and I take my daughter (the diehard Isles fan) and son-in-law to a game as part of their birthday present (their birthdays are close to each other). I love sharing the experience with them, UBS is a great place to see a hockey game, but paying that kind of money for this kind of experience is just a no-go.

I never thought I'd get this indifferent to the Islanders - I camped out overnight for playoff tickets from 1975 through 1978, and then had full season tickets for 13 years (including the 19 straight playoff series wins) - but this crap is just ridiculous.

No surprise. We need a coup to get rid of our senile GM in Chief.

Shut out again tonight. 22 goals scored in 10 games... Who's getting fired first? Lou or Roy?

Neither get fired. Roy was given a roster in decline so it’s hard to blame him. Lou will be given the opportunity to retire after the season.

Hopefully Lou. The roster is shit. No coach could win with this group.

I agree with this. Roy won't get fired at all, and it would be too embarrassing to dump Lamoriello midseason when he so obviously should have been fired before last season. The only way Lou doesn't last the season is if he finally decides on his own that this sort of public incompetence and humiliation is no way for an 82-year-old to be spending his days.
