I think there’s a path, but it’s really small. I watched the bills go 6-6 last year for their first 12 games. They were projected by all accounts to miss the playoffs. I believe they ended the year winning the division and getting like the 2 seed or something crazy. It’s possible. When I look at the jets, they have a top 5 roster in the league imo I don’t know why they are sucking so bad. But if they get their collective asses in gear they have the players to have a crazy lopsided second have of the season. 5 losses this early is a lot to overcome but going 8-2 is still doable.
I think we have a lot of overrated “talent” that start slowly, play sloppy, and lack heart. No way in hell this is a playoff team, AR/DA or not.
The only way we make the playoffs is if they make it so 15 teams from each conference get in. We might be able to squeak in past New England and Jacksonville at 3-14. Season’s over folks and a long, awful rebuild is staring us straight in the face. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Win tomorrow vs one of the worst teams in the NFL who we already beat up on the first time. Then without getting greedy or carried away with beating a crappy team it's a realistically set 6-3 goal from there. It is possible.
If you think the Jets are beating Arizona I have a bridge to sell you. That team took the 49'ers down before they were decimated by the rest of the injuries. Nah... Still have the Jets, if they are VERY lucky, getting a max of 6 wins. That is, of course, unless they get their heads out of the asses and start playing like a TEAM!!
This team isn't talented enough to beat hard nosed teams like Arizona and the Rams. I watch both of them consistently while supporting my wife with her 49'ers. BOTH those teams have heart that the Jets only dream about. If Tua is anywhere NEAR 100% then our offense isn't capable of keeping up. No, the ONLY teams I see a chance against are Jacksonville, Indy (if Richardson starts), NE and possibly splitting with Miami, MAYBE. 6 wins, could be 5 if they do the TYPICAL Jets shit and lay down to an inferior New England team, in NE, because it's what the Jets do.
I see you people talking about all these other teams that started 2 - 5 or 6 - 6 or 3 - 4. Folks, these Jet's "ain't" those teams. This team HAS NO HEART! The rollover job I watched, in Pittsburg, was like a dagger through my heart. They GAVE UP!! I couldn't believe my eye. Go watch the replays. Players with slumped shoulders, downturned faces, no energy... It's UNREAL! No sir, 6 wins is going to be a MONUMENTAL feat and "think" they could win as few as 5!! Don't let those 24 points, this team put up the first game against NE, fool you. THIS is exactly the kind of game this team has lost in the past and everyone knows it. The Jets are so ripe to get knocked off by a team in full 1st year rebuild it's not funny. Just SMH.
As somebody super into fantasy, and who basically invested my entire big money league season into the success of a Kyler Murray/Harrison stack, I've watched every snap of Arizona games this year. There ultimately ain't no more heart or less constant hair pulling going on with that disappearing act offense then we have going on with our's. My don't get greedy or carried away 6-3 projection can have a loss to the Rams baked into it if they actually stay healthy and look to have their crap together as a repeat playoff contender by the time we play them. Let's wait and see what that Miami offense looks like this week before we push any panic buttons on that. Like I said before I'm not sold that Bad News Bears offense this year is solely a product of not having Tua.
It's looking very unlikely to happen. Which would make it what? 14 years since their last playoff appearance? I still remember that choke job against Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game like it happened yesterday feels like it. I remember when Buffalo had the 18 years playoff drought not too long ago now my team is approaching that type of playoffs drought. Rodgers was supposed to be the stopper put a end to it if it doesn't end with him when will it end?
] I mean if Miami blows up today and it's the 2023 offense all over again I'll be the first person bumping this thread RIP'ing this potential 7-3 run possibility. Because we most certainly will end up needing to win both those games, and any team that can be expected consistently score is pretty much a worst case scenario matchup for this jets team. Confident enough that isn't going to happen though that I left Waddle on my bench in this forum's league while kinda really needing a win to halt my 2 game slide
Absolutely. But if/when we do win and on the flip side I think it's relevant to point out that 3-5 really isn't that far off from what a projected 9 win team was always likely to look like that this point in the season. We should of won that game in Denver, and that L ultimately might end up sinking our seasonal seeding chance when all is said and done. But at the end of the day 3 of those 5 loses (SF, BUF, PIT) were games any rational based projection was putting down as an L coming in, and the other L we took to Minny was to a team that is arguably looking to be better then any of the ones left on our schedule.
I've seen the Jets have rough years many. I'm trying to remember thinking back. This may be the most disappointing season of all. In other seasons they weren't picked to do well we knew they weren't going to be very good going in, or suffered a catastrophic QB injury early in the year or lost many players in free agency or whatever. I've never seen anything like this it defies explanation. We have Aaron frickin' Rodgers at QB. Tyrone Smith at LT. Just traded for Adams. etc. No major injuries. Yet the head coach was fired after week 5 and here the Jets are staring at 2-6 after having just lost to a team QBd by rookie Maye and his backup QB Brissett. It's so surreal.
