History you say, have we won 4 in a row over the last 10 years…..I have a hard time remembering it’s been so bad.
Did you read how he addressed the whole organization? He addressed a losing mindset from the top down. He specifically mentioned the play when Breece broke for 57 yards and he said there was no energy on the sideline. I guarantee you Mr Saufty contributes to this mentality. I don’t see no energy coming from this dude, no passion. He panics every time the ball is thrown his way.
Thanks. 1986, phenomenal start, hard to believe over the last 38 years we only accomplished that 3 times.
I don’t think he was saying those were the only times, just some notable ones. We had a 5 and 4 game win streak with a loss sandwiched in between 2010. 5 game win streak in 2008. 5 game win streak to start 2004. 4 game streak in 2002. I’m sure there’s more. Very frustrating that we can’t recreate the 2000’s. I grew to love the Jets then. Douglas had similar opportunities in 2021 and 2022 to recreate the magic that was the 2000 and 2001 drafts and he really blew it. Those drafts set the franchise in a positive direction for a decade.
Yeah. These were just the first ones that came off the top of my head from a recent conversation I had with someone the other day about it.
Very well said. I was listening to Bart Scott this morning and he pointed out this team lacks identity and does not play like a team. IMO. We have not established the running game at all, we have not imposed our will on D against the running game, we have some short term key pieces due to free agency, but do not play as a team. Building the trenches particularly on the OL has been our Achilles heal. We seem disjointed and lacking focus.
Agree, been saying that for a couple of weks now. No idenity at all... what is this team? Its not, its a collection of talent w/o the mindset of being a team. I am not sure they will get it together but I hope they do... Brick seems to think that DA speech made an impact, we'll see.
THAT is a Mother "F'n" disgusting shame right there. The one thing about cold hard stats...they really SHOW you how fucking bad this entire pooch screw has been for a VERY long time.
We haven’t had 9 wins in a row since 86. We haven’t being able to replicate success since 2000-2002. Awful, yet the season tickets have gone exponential in price.
I respect this dude for attempting to fill a leadership void on the Jets. He saw it right away. And he's trying to do something about it. Someone has to do it.
To point this out again he's currently due a $38m+ cap hit in his age 33 and 34 seasons. Don't end up surprised if it turns out we actually outbid ourselves (again) there, and if he basically ends up being mostly un-tradeable because of that salary in very short amount of time here.
