We would have been screaming that Ulbrich is a pussy and awful game manager if he sat on the rock with 130 and 2 TOs lol.
Look we had a 9 point lead and a running back that was having a great first half. Smart teams in that situation don't decide to let their 40 year old QB throw caution to the wind
Absolutely... I'm not sure what they were doing, if the calls were getting changed at the line, but Breece Hall finishing with 12 carries is insulting
The first one at the end of the 1H was a Zach Wilson special, the second however, was right in Mr. over rated's hands and he played volleyball with the opponent and gave them that one. I will blame the QB when due, but the second INT was on #5 strictly.
I don't have any problem with them going for points at that point in the game but Rogers made a stupid throw. If you look at the replay there was one Jets player in the middle of the field, surrounded by Pitt players. Rogers should have made a sideline throw. Ron
On the 2nd interception, Wilson was wide open and Rodgers threw him a perfect pass. If he had caught it, he had a big opportunity for YAC. So I'm not sure how you could call that one a horrible decision.
Nothing wrong with trying to score more points. I'd be pretty disappointed if they just sat there and ran the clock down. Execution was rough though. He tried to make a hero play when he didn't have to, and the team paid the price.
On the road with a 9 point lead, inside the 2 minute warning in your territory, there is no reason to take unnecessary chances. Its best to go for a conservative approach to at least get a first down before considering opening up. Not a hard rule, but the OP is correct, and we saw what it got us. We gave them the time and field position to score. Dumb move on the road. Personally I'm a fan of wearing down defenses. Since we were getting the second half kick, trying a smash mouth drive in situation would have been smart game management. You throw on 3rd down if its more than 3 yards, but to the sticks, not downfield. Once you get to midfield where there is less chance of a momentum turning mistake, you open it up more. Just keep their DL working.
Cowboys just took a timeout (one remaining) to get the ball back after the FG with 1:30 to try to drive down and get points.
