It very well could happen. The reason JFM isn't on this team is because of cash and $. The reason Adams may not be added to this team is because of cash upfront. It very well could happen, but I think they let Douglas go after it with Adams. We will find out this week.
Woody will let Douglas do that move for sure. They’ll promise to let him “hang out” with Devante Adams for a little bit and he will fanboi and sign off on the deal
N-fucking-O. Not one more piece of cap space or draft capital should been spent on this season. That's like putting a piece of tape on the Titanic.
They've been one pass catcher short the entire year. We've said it all offseason. That's why the Bowers discourse back in March/April was so interesting because we all saw how bad the pass catchers were. Mike Williams has been brutal. They drafted a guy in Corley who can't even get on the field. It's crazy.
The problem with this Jets team is that they’re in every game but lose for stupid reasons. The kinds of reasons new players don’t fix, but Woody is to stupid to recognize that so he’ll allow Douglas to further mortgage the future because they’re this close… Side note: Tyrone Smith plays like he’s looking to become an accessory to murder.
At least the Darnold Jets were lovable losers becuase of the talent differential. This group is just losers. This isn't a young team. This isn't an inexpensive team. This is a veteran, expensive, win-now team that can't gut out a tough win and they're a lot closer to being 1-5 than they are 3-3.
Their one pass catcher short, one OL short, one DE short and on and and on. That's Woody type thinking right there
Yeah Smith was awful at Left Tackle last night. Oh he made some pro bowls 10 years ago for a different team. good for him
The Jets two wins are against arguably the worst team in football (the Patriots) and another bottom feeder in the Titans. Close losses don't mean anything.
They have the DE.. he just decided to do the most unprecedented holdout of all time. They have the OL.. he is behind Tyron Smith. Who has been an awful signing thus far. There needs to be real conversation about Olu > Tyronn but I don't think this week vs Pitt is the week to do it. The pass catcher is still missing.
They don't have either of those. Olu is a project rookie, far from a solid starter. Reddick ain't signed as far as I heard. Until it's done, it's not. Furthermore, Reddick could be a shell of his former shelf with all this time with no football related activities. That would be typical Jets luck. Stop trying to mortgage the team's future when they're not making the playoffs. That's just horrible shortsightnedness for a team in need of a complete blowup and rebuild. Blow it up and start the rebuild. The sooner we start the sooner this merry go round fucktudery ends.
There should be but there won't be. Tyron Smith is a player with name recognition. That's all that the Jets care about. It doesn't matter one bit how well or not that name actually plays.
What future? The one in 2026 where we are sold another false savior 21 year old kid? Who cares my guy. What does it matter? We've been rebuilding for nearly 2 decades. Go get the pass catcher and lay in the bed you made with the 41 year old QB. The AFC stinks. 9 wins will get multiple teams into the playoffs this year. There are only 2 games on the schedule they won't be favorite in -- @ Buffalo and home vs Houston. The Bills scored 3 points in the 2H last night. The Jets went 1/4 in the redzone and missed 2 FGs. They should have score 30 points and won the game. Not doing anything is insanity. Fuck the future 3rd round pick. So we can draft another Corley who won't play? Get real.
The one play he had where he got outside and completely whiffed on Rasul Douglas was absurd. I thought he was going to throw him into the stands and Breece would have had a huge run.
It's bad enough you want to mortgage the Jets future for some lost, hopeless season where they have no chance at doing anything of substance. Then you add on to it with this doomsday prediction for future seasons and act like just fuck everything forever and just put all your cards into a lost season. Doubling down on ineptitude is not the answer.
A 3rd round pick in 2025. You have two. Who cares. When is the last time the Jets have ever had a substantial pick in the 3rd round or later? They are dart throws. You're hoping to win the lottery with it.
Exactly right. Of course you play for championships, you're wasting your time if you're not planning for the next SB win. But you gotta take baby steps, getting the playoff monkey off the back would be a good step in the right direction. After 14 years of trash just making the playoffs as a wildcard team would be a successful season.
They're dart throws when you have a horrible GM like Douglas. They're important picks for well run teams which the Jets have a chance at if they get Pete Carroll or a real leader in here after this shit lost season. You're hoping to mortgage the future for some lost season. Makes no sense.
