That's my wish for the Jets, and you all, and myself. Enough already. I want to see the Jets add Duece McAllister, a road grading lineman and TE, and a deep threat on the order of Santana Moss and become a 28 pt/game offense. I want to see the Jets sign a run-stuffing DT, draft a ferocious pass-rushing LB, and sign Samuel away from the Pats and become a 9 pt/game, punishing, intimidating defense. I want to see the Jets dominate teams right out of the box, starting with a Monday night home win vs. the Pats. I want the Jets offense to have 4 games in the 20's, 6 in the 30's, 2 in the 40's, 1 in the 50's, 1 in the 60's, and then drop 77 points on either the Giants, or Buffalo. I want to see the Jets send 12 guys to the Pro Bowl. I want a division title and the #1 seed. I want to watch the AFC Championship Game from Section 224. I want to fall to my knees sobbing in delirum as the Jets win a trip to the Super Bowl. I want to score Super Bowl tickets in the lottery. I want to have a great f----n Super Bowl week just like those A---holes from New england will be having next week. Then I want to watch the Jets win the Super Bowl in record-setting fashion. In the words of Southside Johnny: ALL I WANT IS EVERYTHING. Is that so much to ask? NO, IT'S NOT.
Since we're dreaming, I would add that miraculously hopeful scenario of Chad's arm completely recovering and being even stronger than before the first tear.
Well in that case i hope that our Defense will become the Leagues 1st Defense that recorded 100+sacks 50+ Picks and 0 pts allowed
Now this is what I like to see - a little good old fashioned Sunday morning sunshine. None of this pessimistic "What if we suck next year?" bullshit. We're just gonna straight out kick some ass in 07! Whether they win another one this year or not, the Pats days as schoolyard bullies are numbered!
Dreaming alone won't get it done, but it can't be done until they dream it first. I'm just thinking that maybe that maybe next year, the Jets could put together an offense or defense that is absolutely dominant (on the order of the 85 Bears or 99 Rams or 2000 Ravens). The only time the Jets have ever been that lights out I believe was the first 10 games of the 1986 season when O'Brien, Walker, Toon and McNeil ran over teams, and some portion of 1981 season when the Sack Exchange was running QBs into the ground. But those, obviously, weren't the caliber of the Super Bowl teams mentioned above. You gotta do it in the playoffs and win the championship. Don't think the 68 Jets were ever that dominant, just solid across all three units, similar to 98 jets. That's more likely what we should be hoping for in 2007. The Jets of 2006 with a few more points per game on offense, and a few more shutouts on defense. Still, it would just be nice to have at least one of the units strike terror into the opposing team. It would great not to be biting my fingers off inside of two minutes left in the game.
What the hell? I want to see the Jets win games regardless of the score and stats. Its about winning.
