Everybody gets off on Gipson not fair catching but I don't know if those extra 3 yards he adds to each return are worth the eventual game-changing fumble we're inevitably going to see.
I feel like the new kickoff rules you need someone who can maybe break an arm tackle or run through someone. Gibson just can't do that at all. Not sure why Corley isn't used at all but it isn't shocking with this CS
It's like the perfect situation for that because the coverage team doesn't get a 30 yard running head of steam anymore, so power is more valuable than straight line speed on those returns now.
I think teams are slowly figuring this out. It might take our Jets a couple years but some teams have figured it out
I think Boyer still brings some innovation but would they let him use Allen? I agree though, whenever it comes to cutting edge trends, the Jets usually adopt them after they stop being effective.
Hopefully the X experiment on the outside is tabled--I'd rather see Charles get that opp at 6'4. If they need to take it slow with Mike Williams.
Both Lazard and Adams have considerable experience with Rodgers; we continue to hear how well Wilson works with Rodgers yet they both had communication problems with Rodgers on back to back plays. I'm not talking about which receiver is better but I am not ready to state that the same communication problems cannot or will not happen with Adams. He comes at a very high price.
Well yeah…I’m not rushing to give up Corley, or Gipson either for that matter. I’m just saying that if that’s what it takes to get it done, I wouldn’t cry too much about it…I do think a 3rd straight up for a 32 year old WR who is essentially on the last year of his deal (I know he has 2 more years but not guaranteed and I don’t think we or anyone else would be giving him $36M) feels about right.
Adams has double as many games with Rodgers than Lazard and over 600 more catches from him. Clearly they have some chemistry I won’t argue the price, but there isn’t a person on this planet more in synch with Rodgers
I mean if they are allowing him input on where he wants to go, and if the Ravens are actually in the mix, then that makes a lot more non "duh, because Aaron Rodgers is here!!!" sense then we do. Especially as an aging vet who wasn't even in the league yet for that one SB run Rodgers has seen. That said he doesn't have that level of control here, and this is pretty much screaming your classic bad team "bid against yourself" overpay waiting to happen for us. Harbaugh doesn't have the same level of desperation and reckless stupid in him to outbid Woody and co on this if it came down to that imo. This is something they were already hot on dating back to that bad GM'ing post-trade deadline announcement last year. I'm fairly convinced this is happening after the London game.
Lamar is a great player, but Baltimore is where receivers careers die. He doesn’t throw for a lot of yards, they use their tightends and backs a lot and they run the ball a ton for a lot of yards. Their defense also forces a lot of turnovers and short fields. Not exactly the place to go to put up numbers although it obviously presents a much better opportunity for a ring.
He has been "out of sync" with Rodgers since 2022. The other two guys have played and practiced with him for two years and still there were problems last week. Maybe it's the receivers, maybe it's not.
