1000% on the money response. This putrid year after year lack of discipline and effort is totally on the CS. JD screw up was not the draft talent but the Coach selection.
Benigno is too easy on Rogers. Rogers is well known for snap counts that confuse the defense but if he hasn't practiced it enough it confuses his own side too and there were 5 penalties for false starts yesterday. Maybe if Rogers had practiced the snap counts earlier in the year instead of taking off to Egypt they wouldn't have had that problem. Ron
That is a bunch of crap. He was there for all OTAs and every single practice and if the idiot HC had enough on the ball to play the starters a few rounds on pre-season even better. Missing minicamp did fuck all to acerbate that problem. Two starters in the OL hardly practiced. Not playing the starters on pre-season would have been the ideal spot.
JV, come-on-man, really. You being to hard on him... remember this is the same stiff (coach, LOL) that admittedly took him all last year to learn that hall could catch the ball... please, give him another month or so and maybe the light will go on...
The Jets are around mid-pack when it comes to false start penalties. I believe we had one false start leading up to yesterday's game. Miami has more with one less game. Detroit and Seattle have as many with one less game.
Disagree completely. Coaching sets the tone for the team. All those years the Raiders were big penalty teams were a result of the coaching philosophy that giving up some penalties was a fair trade for the intimidation factor they produced. It may surprise you to know that between this season and last the Raiders have the fewest penalties called against them at 92 while the Jets have 155, second only to Houston at 166. That Halloween game should be scary!
The important question is "If a young Bill Parcells was available would Douglas replace Saleh with him?" Everything Saleh and his crew do, or fail to do, rides on the shoulders of Douglas.
I saw things I saw in the Titans & Pats games. The offense gets in so many second and third and long situations. In this game even when they were in short yardage they sucked. And this offense has no killer instinct at all because of you know who calling the plays. The defense & special teams make what should be huge, game turning, win sealing plays and this offense just cannot turn those into TDs. They could have jumped on top of Denver early after the back fumbled. Then buried them at the goal line later in the first half instead they settled for FGs allowed Denver to hang around and it is what it is. And I know he got let off the hook because Denver's kicker missed the FG but what the heck was coach Saleh thinking going for it on 4th & long on the Jets side of the field when he has 3 timeouts?
