So many awful coaching decisions. One in particular that irks me. Why is Will McDonald lining up 3 yards outside the tightends outside shoulder? I fully get that the point of bending the edge is to get outside leverage. The Broncos just neutralized him by taking him miles away from the play and did it throughout the game. Very frustrating that they didn’t adjust whatsoever to this and coach him to tighten up.
Who could have imagined big Allen wouldn't touch the ball in this situation, especially after we had 3 weeks to adjust? But the incompetence of this CS is beyond anyone's imagination.
Brilliance from Brian Costello: Jets stunned by Broncos as Aaron Rodgers, offense fail to score TD (nypost.com) " The Jets decided to pay tribute to Zach Wilson in his return to MetLife Stadium on Sunday with the Broncos. They looked putrid on offense just like the bad, old days when Wilson was their quarterback. The Broncos stunned the Jets 10-9 on a day the Jets failed to reach the end zone for the first time this season. "
I did notice Rodgers brush off Hackett at the end. Maybe we'll get rid of that turd this season at least.
Adjustments are not what this coaching staff does. They show up and just hope the other side is some way, somehow coached worse than their team is. That's the entire New York Jets gameplay boiled down to its essence. Changes need to be made. They need to be made NOW!
Minimum baseline of NFL competency I guess. I think Saleh reaches that. To be honest Hackett probably does as well even though none of us really like him. But are they outwitting the competition? Hell no. And thats a problem if your really trying to win playoff games.
You couldn’t stop the clock at that point. If you run up the gut with Allen, next play is the FG. 3rd down should have been the HB draw run and let Allen get a 5-6 yards.
Saleh doesn't even come close to baseline NFL competency. He would be lost even at lower levels of football.
I know the OC sucks but Aaron is a coach on the field and i imagine has the freedom to change out of any play. So some of the calls are on him. It seems like Aaron is used to everybody being scared of him. Afraid to disappoint him. He does not have that power over the Jets roster He was king in green bay and the players who came in adjusted to him. Here there are guys who have been here , the defense, hall, wilson all chips on their shoulders and do not necessary respond ton Aaron the way he is used to
Btw, why was it a penalty? Lazard pretended to throw something in the air and shot it. I mean I don't get it, why is it 15 yards and unsportsman like conduct? I mean there was no taunting or anything. Is celebration of a successful play not allowed at all now?
Not sure but I believe any depiction of "gun play" was banned a couple of years ago. Took a look - it's been forbidden for at least eleven years because in 2013 when Matt Simms was a Jet he was fined almost $8,000 for the act. Last Monday Night Drake London was fined $14,000 for the same thing. Once again, a failure of coaching if these guys don't know what's legal and what's not. Get out your checkbook, Lazard!
