It seems like once again the Braves series will decide the fate of the Mets. They are up 2 games but still have 2 more against philly. They just have to hold serve. Good thing the Braves lost yesterday.
Mets and Braves both win again, but D’Backs lose. Mets are in the second wild card, tied with AriZona and two up on Atlanta. If they take two out of three from Atlanta they’re in, since then they would win the season series from them; they’re also in if they only win 1 of 3, but then sweep the Brewers.
Oh boy. Weren't the Mets in a very similar situation 2 years ago? Just had to win 1 of 3 against the Braves and got swept? It's time to change that narrative.
Giants beat the Diamondbacks tonight, so the Mets are 1/2 game up on them. It’s good to remember that even if the Braves beat out the Mets, the Mets could still make the postseason. Of course, for historical and psychological reasons for both the fans and the players, I want them to stomp on the Braves the next two nights and make all of that moot.
Looks like there's going to possibly be a hurricane coming through that area. I wonder if they'll have to postpone some games or what.
Possibly Thursday, but I think game would be finished before real impacts. My buddy was planning on heading there from St. Aug, but pretty sure those plans got shot down.
“Today and tomorrow's Mets-Braves games have been postponed, per @Joelsherman1 The plan is for those teams to play a double header on Monday before the postseason starts on Tuesday.” Like why have it get to this point.? The weather has been easily predicted days ago. How is this fair to either teams?
yeah, if they cared about the competition they couldve squeezed in 1 day day game.... but probably more concerned about the ticket sales. It was pouring in ATL yesterday and will get shitty today (the front that's pulling the 'cane North is stalled over GA) so not much you can do otherwise
Would be something if the Mets clinched Sunday and they can just forfeit the DH and make Atlanta refund all those ticket sales.
Ha. I said something similar to my dad yesterday.... more just hoping that the games dont matter by then
Maybe the Mets get lucky and avoid Chris Sale this way. Could be a blessing in disguise. Imagine how good it would feel to end the Braves season.
