Why even trade Codrington for essentially nothing? Maybe a better chance he goes elsewhere than a division rival. Would suck if he had a good game against us
Their roster has so much talent all the way down that guys like this have to stay on the PS. It's really a testament to some of the good work JD and crew have done
Especially with the new kickoff rules. I think it’s gonna have some pretty big impact on games since it’s so new. I think the NFL will also probably nix it after one year. Maybe that’s just hopeful thinking because I think it’s dumb as fuck.
I don't know that I would say that Newman is all that much better than Levao. They also need more than 2 IOL for depth. I hope they have their eye on a camp cut at IOL.
Any Desmond Ridder fans out there? I see he's being released by Arizona. Perhaps i think he's good because he lit us up in a preseason game two years ago LOL. That game was the tragic Zach Wilson knee injury game.
It still baffles me how many people were so mad that we got rid of him. Dude was mediocre at best. Fake at worst.
So I thought the cutdown time was 4pm ET, right? Do we have final confirmation on the roster yet? Can’t seem to find a full final list of cuts and roster yet
It was 4 PM EST. I've yet to see any of the Jets cuts (aside from TE Neal Johnson who was only here for about a week earlier in TC, and he was also cut by the team that signed him after the Jets) on NFL.com, PFN.com, or Spotrac. I don't know what gives. I've also only seen about 4-5 Dolphins cut, only about 6 Ravens cut. It looks like some of the better teams are holding out waiting to see whom other teams cut.
So far all I cam see is the one guy we traded and about eight guys they are trying to stash on the practice squad. No real news yet.
It was against the Eagles when Wilson hurt his knee in the preseason two years ago. To answer your question, Ridder is better than our options at QB 3 for the moment, but I don't see the Jets bringing him in.
https://www.newyorkjets.com/news/jets-53-man-roster-2024-season Fotu and Yeboah on IR Brownlee and Charles made it JJ is listed as a LB, so 10 DL Abanikanda made it The cut players are as follows: Waived/Released List Player Pos Exp Transaction Shemar Bartholomew CB R Waived Al Blades Jr. S R Waived Austin Deculus OL 3 Waived Sam Eguavoen LB 6 Released Obinna Eze OL 1 Waived Anthony Firkser TE 6 Released Chris Glaser OL 2 Waived Jake Hanson OL 4 Released Tyler Harrell WR R Waived Bruce Hector DL 3 Waived Anthony Hines LB 1 Waived Jalyn Holmes DL 5 Released Deon Jackson RB 3 Waived Jaylen Key S R Waived Zack Kuntz TE 1 Waived Jarius Monroe S R Waived Brady Latham OL R Waived Kohl Levao OL 1 Waived Adrian Martinez QB 1 Waived Marcelino McCrary-Ball LB 1 Waived Lance McCutcheon WR 2 Waived Andrew Peasley QB R Waived Lincoln Sefcik TE R Waived Austin Seibert K 4 Released Kendall Sheffield CB 4 Released Nehemiah Shelton CB 1 Waived Jackson Sirmon LB R Waived Tanzel Smart DL 4 Released Brandon Smith WR 1 Waived Tre Swilling DB 1 Waived Jaylen Twyman DL 1 Waived Willie Tyler III OL R Waived Xazavian Valladay RB 1 Waived Isaiah Winstead WR 1 Waived
I imagine that they plan to bring Yeboah back either to the roster or PS when he comes off of IR. In the meantime, they'll probably sign Firkser to the PS. Firkser can function as a FB. Ruckert could as well.
10 DL. My guess would be that either they thought that they'd have a better chance of getting Levao through waivers that Watts or they thought that Watts had more potential than Levao long term. They may also have their eyes on an IOL in the camp cuts.
2 TEs feels a bit light, but agree on the quality of the DL … they didn’t think they’d get through waivers
Dumb post. The DLmen they kept would've had a much higher chance of getting claimed. Levao will most likely make the PS.
