In all seriousness, I'm shocked we won with Peralta for day 1. Losing Burnes and not having Woodruff is gonna blow. It's a long season. I have no faith in our depth.

He went spikes up. If you watch it again he spiked the shit out of McNeils back leg.

Okay, I didn't see it in slow-mo. It just looked like a hard slide.

I have very little expectations for this year. As I stated above, I hate our starting 5 and now, Megill is on the shelf....shocking.

Per Andy Martino, The Mets are signing Julio Teheran.

Asking Baty to bunt there. It’s things like that , that drives you crazy.

That was a nice win, especially thinking that they may not even get a hit.

I just saw that Pat Zachry passed away. He was. involved in the infamous Tom Seaver trade. RIP.

Unfortunately for the Mets, he had a good rookie season, and a good start in the World Series against the Yankees, which made the team think he was a much better pitcher than he was. By all accounts he was a good guy and a good teammate. RIP.

That one has a bigger impact for sure - he was an excellent defensive catcher (Johnny Bench famously said that if Grote was on the Reds, he [Bench] would be playing third base), and extremely important in the development of pitchers like Seaver, Koosman, Gentry, Matlack, and McGraw. Gil Hodges had a tremendous effect on him from a personal point of view (and gave him some good hitting advice as well), and Yogi helped sharpen his catching skills as well. RIP.

Mets continue to play well - 12-3 in their last 15 games.

I love it. I just wish the starters could give us some length.

They're for sure going to need another arm in the pen at some point. The lack of length from the SP is a real problem when you have to rattle off 6 or 7 games in a row.

Bizarre decision of Mendoza to keep Houser in when he obviously had absolutely nothing. Before you know it, you're down 7-0.
