It must be Bowers, and only Bowers. There is only one right answer in this draft. And that answer is Bowers, who is NOT a TE!
well I won’t list 7 players that I would like to see selected… if Alt or Bowers are gone, then I’d like to see the Jets trade down.
Easier said than done. What if you have to stick and pick and both are gone? What are the realistic choices you like? Who do you like if JD can pull the trade down?
And the long arms comment I responded to wasn't an embellishment? Did you miss that one? Also, I thought @REVISion and I were cool! Bowers is ruining everything... When is the draft already?
Haha all good man. But yes, the draft needs to get here. Can't believe I've yet again dug my heels in on a guy. I am ready to be hurt again.
For all the "catches behind the line of scrimmage" talk, you guys do know that in their last season together, the Rogers/Adams combo led the league in those plays, right? It's one of Rogers' favorite plays to run.
From Page 56: "While I am very skeptical of whether Bowers would make enough of an impact to be worth taking at No. 10, I cannot deny that he would be an intriguing fit in this offense on paper." From original article: "Again, don’t count me as anti-Bowers – I simply don’t see him as the wisest choice for the Jets at No. 10." Maybe there is some shift. But not much from the conclusions of both as far as picking at #10. For me Bowers is the lowest acceptable outcome at #10. I will not be breaking a tele again, nor will I be ecstatic. I think it is about 5 picks too high, and I like value. But it is not like losing Broderick on a pick swap and picking McD. I am hoping if we do get Brock, it will be on a trade down, and we can use extra assets to address OL/WR. Or JD comes up with something unexpected to get Nabers or something. Anyway, wish the draft were tonight, I really do.
I have Odunze right after Bowers, then Fashanu, Fautanu, Fuaga, then Thomas. I really like Fashanu, I have him right behind Alt in tackle rankings. Mims a mid first round who needs time to develop. Only played 6 games but crazy athletic and split practice reps 60/40 RT and LT. Latham scares the hell out of me. History shows that bama tackles thrive in that scheme but nowhere else. Kind of like NE linemen.
I'm with you there. If they trade back a few picks and still get Bowers, fine. But I can't see taking him over a WR or OT that are likely to be there at 10 (of course that depends on who's actually there)
Douglas put us in this position so he will just have to figure out how to trade down It depends on how far he goes down but then I think you take a lineman or Brian Thomas Jr
