Probably just a smokescreen but who knows. There is always a late QB riser. Good thing is that this will be a heavy QB top of the draft pushing a prospect to us. Who that will be is TBD but some of us wont like it no matter what lol.
I'm with you. I personally think Daniels is the best QB in this draft. I swear to you, if the Patriots end up drafting another generational QB I may end up dying from a conniption right on the spot.
The hype around McCarthy is real. There are plenty of people that think he is the #1 in this draft. This could be Washington GM prepping the fanbase for JJ, or a way to build up a trade back.

I think one of these teams is going to make a huge mistake over drafting McCarthy if he goes in the first round let alone the top ten. My analysis remains - less pass attempts than Zach Wilson in college, so-so NFL arm at best and not nearly the athlete on the field that his 40 time indicates he is. He’s also very skinny for my liking. He beefed up for the combine to weigh in better. They didn’t even let him throw in the second half against Penn State. They obviously didn’t need to but that’s pretty ugly for any team taking him that high to think about.

No way JJ is going 2 overall…and for my money, I wouldn’t draft Penix before the third round regardless…I know what I saw in that championship game and he sucked all around…bad mechanics, piss poor accuracy…defenses are actually better in the NFL, not worse. No thanks And as for JJ, I always worry about guys who shoot up the draft charts AFTER the season is over…he was not a top ten QB when the season ended…he’s surely not one now
JJ McCarthy at #2. Heh. I hope so. It’ll give me a new hobby - trolling the ExtremeSkins messageboard. A couple months ago they could have had Mac Jones for a case of tube socks. Essentially the same college player.
