Per Adam Schefter - no contract details yet. Looks like we have our left tackle, here's hoping he can stay healthy.
Apparently in order to be considered for the Jets offensive line, you must have a 3 in front of your age.
Awesome. Gamble with how injured he is but if healthy we have one of the best in the game. Better have another good backup though. Nice they actually got him. Was thinking they would end up with Bakhtiari
A golden opportunity for the typical Jets fan to say "better than what we had", which is the mantra of this team and its fans. Is it an improvement? Of course it is. But another 33-year-old guy with a tough injury history means we will be playing Russian roulette with our line all year. You all can call me negative all you want.
Good move. As long as Smith and Moses can stay healthy, we have two solid tackles, and we can play AVT at guard where he belongs. We still need another tackle, but we don't have to draft one at 10.
1 year up to $20 mil. Great, take our money, please. Massive massive addition (with obvious risks) that opens us up at 10
Hopefully he goes the Trent Williams route and continues his career resurgence. Coming off a 2nd Team All Pro season so I can't complain. The Jets probably overpaid but that's what this franchise has to do to get some top tier talent. Risky but high upside move. Douglas clearly needs to win this year so he is going all in. I like it. Are the Jets thinking Rome Odunze or one of those other stud offensive playmakers at 10? Now I'm intrigued.
The "vision" of this team once acquiring Aaron Rodgers has been win in the window you have Rodgers. Can this back fire? Ofcourse it can, but atleast the Front Office is doubling down on their vision and they are aware they won't have jobs if this does not work out. And this is coming from a person who hates Joe Douglas. They are gambling.
I think we do. Two 33 year old tackles with injury history. We need a young stud. Unless we get another OT like Fant, and even then... Smith is injury prone, and we need a really good young back-up.
That's everybody in the NFL. Any player can go down at any time. The best thing you can do is load your team with as much talent as possible and add depth where you can.
