Basically he said Rodgers loves Davis and the Jets love Davis, but they released him because they essentially are nice guys and like him. I recall you believed insides sources Zack had before. That's the same guy that suggested AR was the GM. Does that change your mind?

I think Blatt is not 100% accurate here. I think he is right about the factual items such as the actual release happening, but I do not believe the speculative part: that JD wants to pay Davis 10 mil, has his rights to do so, but released him because he is a nice guy. I think he doesn't want to pay him this much, since it is not bargain basement price, and that's why he dumbly released him. Seems like more and more evidence is coming in that it is not AR's doing though. What say you?

 

Please, no. To begin with the Jets absolutely should not draft another QB high as long as this joke of a regime is here, and McCarthy isn't worth being a top 10 pick imo.

 

Yeah, that that is enough to change my mind as far as it being the more likely answer there on why the release.

Still wouldn't 100% rule it out though. I mean I'm guessing we are only bringing in 1 outside receiver. That would include a re-add of Davis. As I've stated in another thread I also don't ultimately have an issue with Rodgers hand picking who that guy ends up being. In fact It kinda makes sense to me that he does given the surrounding situation going in.

I'll go on record saying I don't believe they're trying to move Lazard--they got him here for AR and now that he's coming back they're going to trade him? That could be since its the NYJ but its unlikely.

 

I just doubt there’s a deal to be had regardless…hard to imagine someone trading for an expense WR who was benched

Lazard was horrible. It's that simple. We don't want him anymore. He had the lowest open rate of 157 qualifying receivers last year.

 

Problem is, nobody else will either.

 

Lazard wouldn't be on the trade block unless The Candidate signed off first.

They aren’t going to be able to trade him. Since they are paying him and stuck with him. Can we see what he can do with Rodgers? If he gets 500 yards and a couple of tds it’s fine

 

Maybe the Jets can package Lazard with one of the compensatory picks they received. Same for Zach.
