Hopefully the firing, or excuse me "mutual parting of ways", continues. Still a lot of change that needs to happen with this organization.
Good riddance is right. I read that Hogan and Lafleur (and Chris Simms) were the driving forces urging Joe Douglas to select mega-bust Zach Wilson. Yes, Hogan was actually getting paid by the jets for this advice. Several of us on this board (and not on the jets payroll) posted early and often that Wilson had only 1 good year in college and played a creampuff schedule that year. Maybe Hogan can get a job with some other team and convince his new team to give us something, anything, for Zach.
The guy had a major role in not one but two failing regimes. If there is anyone who should have been fired even before JD/Saleh, it's him. Don't let the door fuck you on the way out.
Agreed, it is not "the leak". It's multiple ones, and the more of these losers we can git rid of the better.
Well, there goes the reason for telegraphing picks to Cimini. Yes he does deserve a lot of blame, as he was the driving force behind Wilson.
He was head of college and pro player evaluation which is the heart of the responsibility for the data on which the decisions are made, So yeh..he should have been canned for starters.
We may never know who the leaker is, so the only way to make sure he's fired is to fire everyone. This is the way.
Hogan is responsible for the evaluation and rankings on both draft and free agency…so what do you think?
Crazy how some guys here know exactly what's going on inside One Jets Drive. For all the rest of us know Hogan could have begged Douglas to avoid Zach Wilson, fire Saleh and do anything but install the Rodgers/Hackett regime. With never the power to make the final decision. Remember, Goodell never was handed a draft card in Hogan's handwriting.
It's their own incompetence too though as they are all part of it. So, yes, they are very much the losers, and that's according to the record. And for Rex - doubly so, for two different loser regimes.
Manish Metah, NY jets VP of Communications: "Jets release Rex Hogan in housecleaning move. Jets org looking to move on from suspected leaker"
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that they actually brought him back after the debacle with Maccagnan! That's like saying you're going to remove black mold and then only remove 75% of it and expect that will take care of the problem. Do we need any more evidence that Woody is a complete idiot? Or that Douglas is in over his head? Fuck this team.
He had plenty of power, the data by which all decisions were made came from him as head of draft and free agency evaluations. To assume he was overruled on selections under not one but too separate regimes after his poor record would be a massive stretch. He was right in the heart of it.
Rumors that I base my opinions on are as valuable as the anonymous sources you seem to base yours from. Unless of course you are Diana Russini, and not just her primary defender.
Get back to me when you know of a business where the assistant can override the decisions of the manager.
As I asked elsewhere - where are all the beat reporters screaming about how fake the article is? What, specifically, do you find false in the Russini/Rosenblatt report? And why direct all your scorn at her and ignore him?
Where in the article that Hogan is the leaker? If he is the head of college scouting, he is the one that provides data and rankings to the group. We don’t know what data or recommendations he provided. Maybe he did have ZW as the can’t miss prospect and convinced ZW. It will be interesting to see who they bring in next if this guy or gal makes the difference.
