Yeah, it is hard to find anyone from whom there is competition when they could be fired next season. That's the problem of brining back failing coaching staff who is on a 1 year mandate. Which probably explains why they kept Keith Carter.
Done. https://titanswire.usatoday.com/2024/01/27/jets-hiring-tony-dews-rbs-coach-titans/ Which Titans retread next?
Smart. He spent most of his career as a tightends or receivers coach (other than coaching the most physically difficult runner in the league to tackle) so naturally we’ll hire him to coach our running backs.
The League office should step in because this is such a travesty of justice at this point. Even they're watching from afar saying WTF are Woody and Joe Douglas doing (or not doing) with this coaching staff?
Like I said... "If you sucked at your last coaching job, or have never done the job you're applying for? Give the New York Jets a call. We don't vet and a lack of success is a prerequisite. "
That's really the problem with hiring a defensive coach like Saleh. He really sold the 49ers way, brining MILF and some other guys from there, but then gravitated towards the Titans way, which is really his nature: play good defense, run first team. MILF tuned out to be a good OC, but had no patience to work with a developmental QBs as his starter. And the GM didn't give another option. The crazy thing is that it could have possibly worked (though probably temporarily, since we would have lost MILF anyway if it did) if JD signed a starting QB in front of Zach for a year or two to allow Saleh, MILF, and Zach to evolve a little bit, and gave just average OL protection. Instead JD forced all rookies into a huge battle without protection from the get go. The result is that they failed to develop, a lot of them are gone, and now the outdated Titans way forward.
Should have kept Cook if they bring in DH. This organization never learns. If there's a trend that's working, lets do the opposite and see what happens.
I'm starting to think that the Jets' actual goal as an organization is to suck. If that's the case, then they're the most well run organization in the history of the planet.
It's honestly unbelievable. We just do the exact opposite of the right thing so consistently it blows my mind. It's almost inexplicable. It's like everyone from our owner down to the coaches lives in a parallel universe with a different NFL. Forget paving our own path, we don't even think to copy the blueprints of the good teams. It's nuts.
