Actually, requesting to leave a team that is winning points to larger problems than trying to get off a sinking ship would indicate. Cursing out a coach is probably a sign that all is not well in paradise, even if that's how some who are satisfied with calm complacency like to perceive things Seeing how the season went indicates no one was living in paradise.
Right. LaFleur sucked and had Berrios starting over Moore. No coach in their right mind would have an overglorified PR/KR playing more than your basically 1st round pick WR. I would be mad too. Moore probably wasn’t interested in playing special teams so that might have caused a bit of a divide. He returned punts and kickoffs in college so it’s not like he could have fully replaced Berrios. JD gave Berrios a crazy contract that was really on him. Berrios is $4m/year or bye bye!
Let’s check in on Elijah Moore now that he’s been freed from the New York Jets prison he was locked up in, playing with an awful quarterback and clueless offensive coordinator: https://x.com/jetstothewest/status/1715485811922108911?s=42 Seemingly bitching about his role less than a week after his team beats the undefeated Niners. Death, taxes, and Elijah Moore not realizing he’s the problem. Less receiving yards through five games with Cleveland than he had with us through the first five games of last year by the way.
here is the crazy part of it his rookie year he got 77 targets in 2022 he got 65 partly becuase of being in the dog house and getting less playing time. in 2023 he's on pace for 122 targets but apparently thats still not enough for him he also got 5 rushes per year with us. he has 8 already in 2023 . basically he's getting double the chances he got here so he should be happy.
Glad he’s gone! Classic addition by subtraction. Glad you brought this up @BroadwayAaron, made me smile!
Weird draft that year. 4/5 of the receivers taken in the 2nd round of the 2021 draft were 5’9” or shorter. They’re all relatively useless as traditional receivers too.
Yep. Another top notch pick by our fearless leader. How they haven't cleared a spot for Joe Douglas in Canton yet is beyond me.
Exactly, people are praising JD for this move, but we effectively ended up losing a 3d round pick in two years. An insult to an injury is that as mid as Moore was for Cleveland, he would have been a massive upgrade for us this year, because JD badly missed with Lazard and Hardman. All around another mistake by JD and an overall a poor WR room beyond 1 guy plus a loss of a 3d rounder.
