Agreed, like I said I was for the move to bring him in for 2 years. It’s just unfortunate that now those 2 years are post Achilles injury and one more year out.

The achilles is going to have a big effect on Rodgers I think. He was never Lamar Jackson but he was good throwing on the run and usually picked up a back-breaking 1st down on a scramble at least once a game

those will be out of his toolbox now I think

actually I was the one saying we aren't in a bad spot cap wise years from now. and i'm not concerned in what carr makes, just pointing out he hasn't been good in NO and the team/fans aren't happy with him. I don't care what the jets spend, the earlier convo was because 1 person was saying the aaron rodgers deal was fishy because the jets are gong to give him more money to retire and he's going to be paid by the jets to play for another team. I pointed out that wasn't the case. that's all that was about. The deal was very team friendly and he took a massive pay cut to be here, and fans are trying to spin it into a negative and it's insane.

can't really agree with that. he clearly has issues running the offense in NO with a better o-line to boot. no saying how he would run the offense here.

here is the issue, you and many others have this assumption that somehow rodgers is responsible for this. for all the shit fans talk about crazy theories rodgers has, you guys sound the same. it's not the reality though. hackett was hired because he was a top candidate. it's that simple. do I like the hire? no. I didn't like the gase hire as most didn't here and we tried to convince ourselves it would be ok. but there was no conspiracy. hackett comes from a "football family" he's been around for many years, was the OC of the packers, a winning team with a HOF QB and was a hot head coaching candidate. he got a HC job, failed and was fired, then was hired back as a DC. same thing like bowles with us. it happens all the time. when he was hired he wanted his guys who knew his system. which lead to lazard and cobb. cobb was signed as a WR5 to be good in the WR room and be reliable. not to have an impact. hackett would also then want rodgers. thats how most OCs operate. on top of that rodgers paycut completely pays for lazard. yeah he's been shitty but he was a top tier FA WR who was playing well in GB just miscast as a WR1. he signed him as a high end WR3. not a huge deal. we likely sign most of those guys anyway if not all of them, even if we get carr. there isn't any "risk" in rodgers more-so then any other QB. fans have just twisted their mind into believing this nonsense.

You were the one that made the point that Carr makes the "same" as Rodgers - so clearly you ARE concerned with what he makes.

As usual, you are extrapolating out into a different discussion. I am not stating that Aaron Rodgers brought them here, I am saying the Jets brought them here for him. Doesn't matter how or why they got here, they are here.

And finally, I don't care how evil, or sweet and accommodating, Aaron Rodgers is. Independently from him pulling strings or not pulling strings, the Jets gave up a lot more to bring him here than they would have for someone else. End of story, bottom line. Stay on track.

it sucks but thats life. shit happens
i made that point only to show the value. better player at equal money means more value.
why would you pay 50 bucks for a meat loaf when you can have a steak at the same price?
people were saying the rodgers contract was bad and fishy, i was saying thats nonsense. i was talking solely about his contract so how about you stay on track lol

If I'm starving, I will take the $50 meatloaf with the option to pick my own sides and options to eat more later rather than the $50 steak that will come with a bunch of sides I don't want, the inability to pick options at future meals, and finance charges that will hit me later.

Especially if the steak happened to fall on the dirty kitchen floor just as I was getting it on the grill.

Poor Aaron...he doesn't know the powerful force of SOJ.
I hope he's right. A year from now I hope the Jets are sitting at 10-5 instead of 5-10.

Head scratcher: Rodgers will take up a roster spot even though he can't play.

That's today's latest declaration from Bob Saleh

Trying to think of another time where a player who is out for the season was not placed on the IR and I cannot think of any examples of that.

It's not like they were going to sign a lineman that could block with that spot.

I said it the other day the guy is delusional... How the hell do you activitate this guy when he can not play...as you say, taking a roster spot. Now wonfer AR wants these clowns around they are truly clueless.

I heard this being discussed on the radio when I was driving, wasn't sure if it was speculation.

The only possible reason for this is that he gets in a game in garbage time to take a couple of snaps so he could say he came back the fastest. There's no other justification for him being on the roster and taking up a spot, especially on a team as injured as this one is.

that's not going to happen. Saleh said Rodgers will not play at all when he announced this plan of action

I believe the explanation that was given was that he is active in order to practice with the team- which is part of his rehab process

They just activated Rodgers. Pretty strong indicator he’s going to play. Does that mean Sunday???????

They could probably give Conklin all of Bawden's FB and 3DB reps and have a very noticeable improvement. Bawden is as no-frills as you get.

bringing in Rodgers seemed like a bad move at the time, has proven to be a much worse move than I'd imagined - god only knows what more of this nonsense is going to look like
