Saleh better be fired after the season, he looked defeated after the Falcons game a few weeks ago, it is really too bad since after firing Gase, I thought Saleh would turn the Jets around but it did not happen
I feel a bit sorry for Saleh - he has nothing to work with on offense in terms of either talent on the field (outside of 1 decent WR) or coaching/playcalling - it would be impossible for anyone to have success on this team (as we see year after year as we never get it right at QB) but at the end of the day he is accountable for performances and the performances have been abysmal
I do as well. Saleh's not a great coach by any stretch, but the way that Joe Douglas has left him twisting in the wind, having to answer questions each week for Douglas' failings while Douglas hides up in his office is absolutely disgusting.
I know he won't as it would kill his future prospects but I would love it if he just lost his temper and said "WTF do you expect me to do when this is what I have to work with on offense - Douglas has failed to deliver anything approaching an NFL calibre offense for me to work with and not even Bill Walsh could win with this"
I would love that as well. He's got his faults for sure, but he's far down the list of problems that this franchise has.
Idk-I am seeing teams compete with backup OL and QBs all the time. Question: Is the talent on offense worse than 2020? I would say no. These coaches aren’t helping these guys at all. It’s as if they don’t have the acumen to adjust at all. I do think Saleh is the biggest problem in the organization. Hes a really bad head coach.
I mean look at Tomlin at the steelers - a short time ago he was everybody's favourite coach but with no viable QB everyone is calling for his head (the same with Bill - no matter how funny that might be) - no coach is going to have consistent success without a QB
On a consistent basis? I don't think you are - no team has had consistent success without a top tier QB in the past couple of decades other than the Ravens with Flacco and it wasn't like he was bad
No, but the Jets literally can’t function. I have never seen a more inept offense. It’s not like there is zero talent.
Fair becuase one can compare anything that share a similarity- i.e. a HC coaching being called and incompetent QB play being a part of it. Here's the contrast part: Tomlin has never had a losing season as a HC, while Saleh is 3-for-3 on losing seasons as a HC. The Jets haven't had a HC of Tomlin's caliber since Parcells.
I do not recall a single thing he has done as a coach that says he could be great. This is a talented team but they all have seemed to give up The fake punt ,even the announcers saw it coming
The D could've held them to a FG and we still would've lost. The OL is so fkn bad, that it doesn't matter.
