I think even 10 years ago, virtually none of these teams currently slated for the playoffs would have been in the top half of their division. The quality of football being played is awful across the board.
The Panthers might have one of the worst rosters over the past 10-15 years in football and dumped a ton of assets into a QB that might be one of the biggest busts of all time. That includes two 0-16 teams too… They also fired their entire offensive staff and head coach 11 games into the season. I don’t think the talent is anywhere near close between the top and bottom. Maybe you’re a bit skewed because the Jets defense is so good that we’ve played some of the top teams pretty tight.
It has nothing to do with the Jets. They are absolute garbage, too. I just see a lot of really garbage teams about to win their divisions and about to make the playoffs. I guess it just comes down to how much folks want to sort garbage. Is there a huge difference between curdled milk and moldy bread? Maybe more so for some. I think they're about the same.
I mean dude have you watched the Panthers play this year?! Or the Pats and Chargers for that matter outside of the Jets games?
I sure have. I think I've watched more non-Jets football this year than I ever have -- that's my point. Those teams suck! Just like the Jets suck. And the Raiders, and the Steelers, and the Colts, and the Saints, and the Falcons, and the Packers, and the Jaguars, and the Giants, and the ........damn near everyone. The 49ers have been mostly good. The Ravens have been good at times. The Eagles have been good a few times. The Cowboys, Lions, Dolphins, Broncos, Texans have had a couple of good games, but I am not impressed by any of them. The whole league sucks. The sewage down at the plant isn't that far off from the stuff that got flushed last night. Maybe I'm just in an ill mood listening to the pregame guys talk all morning about guys on track to break records and who all is in position for the playoffs -- and I just see terrible teams barely eking out wins against horrible teams. Or horrific teams getting lucky and blowing out god-awful teams.
Following this out to it's logical conclusion on my own-- there's simply not much to be learned by sorting through how terrible the league is: it's either bad enough that viewers stop watching, or it isn't. The NFL still has a monopoly on my TV, so as long as everybody sucks and we don't end up with one team winning out year after year, I'll probably keep watching. Thanks for letting me bitch about it for a day, I'm done.
of course he is fit to come back now it doesn't matter - we will win a couple of games, no-one will get sacked and we will miss the OL prospects and then Rodgers will go down early next season - why? because its the Jets way baby
They can't let him play, even if he wants to. The chance of him, coming off a ruptured achilles just a couple months ago, suffering a truly serious, life-altering injury behind this O-line is just too high. No doctor in good conscious would allow him onto the field, even if he is actually ready.
IMHO, he was never going to play unless 1) the OL could block which it can not and 2) they were in the PO hunt and they are not.
That look on Rodgers' face during the game says it all. There's just no reason he should subject himself to the same ineptitude that cost him the season to begin with. I just hope desire doesn't win over intellect, because he'll regret it for sure. At this point, though, I really don't care what he does. It's not going to matter because we're still stuck with the same crap GM and coaching staff for another year. That to me is more concerning than what's happened this season.
If he plays this season he's dumber than I ever thought he was, and if this CS allows him to play this season they're dumber and less in control than I thought they were (and I didn't think much of them to begin with).
I think you are right. Baker Mayfield is a division leader right now, as is Gardner Minshew and the Colts. the Browns are 9-5 with the corpse of Joe Flacco the league is way way down. What an embarrassment that the Jets STILL can’t compete
We’ll still have to hear him talking every week. Rodgers makes sure he’s the biggest story on the team no matter what
I mean…. If that’s what he wants…. It certainly would expedite the purging of the awful coach and GM. Heck, I think now is a better time than ever to put Rodgers out there.
This. I still can’t get over that offensive performance yesterday. With everything on the line, they again looked like they don’t belong in the league.
Maybe next time they shouldn’t celebrate like they won the SB after a win over an average Texans team
