From Foxsports (don't know original source, nor do I care):

Patriots QB Vinny Testaverde from Long Island, a Jet in his heart even when he was with the Bucs or the Browns or the Ravens or the Cowboys, would never wear one of those. The clothing of the hated AFC East rival? Never. Or would he? "One day when I do retire, it'll be as a Jet," he said. "But I still enjoy playing, and (Patriots coach) Bill (Belichick) has given me a chance to play. My loyalties are with them now. "I grew up a Jets fan, and that isn't going to change, but I would certainly love the experience of winning a championship." So, if this were baseball and he were headed into the Hall of Fame, even if he had won a championship with the Patriots, Testaverde would be wearing a Jets cap into Cooperstown? He smiled. "Well, I don't want to get into all that," he said. "I don't want to be a distraction." Translation: Tell the Jets I wear a size 7 1/2.

The Post had an article about that today. If we knock out Brady and Vinny leads NE to a win over us, that will fuck up the great send-off, wouldn't it?

I wonder how many different times he's going to retire a Jet though.

um, he was the QB at the helm of, at the time, our best season a decade. He was born in brooklyn, raised in LI, is a jets fan through and through. we tend to relate to players like him because of what they came from, where they come from, and the personality the bring. I dont understand why more people DONT like him.

I almost puked when I saw him grinning on the other sideline (wearing Pats gear) when Wilfork picked up that lateral...

Why any Jets fan would NOT want to see good things happen for Vinny Testaverde, in any uniform he's worn since '98...is beside me.
Vinny is, was, and will always be a memeber of the Jets family. And a proud member at that.
Just because you're rooting for Vinny to get a ring, however he gets one, does not mean you're rooting for the Pats.

Vinny had one good year in a Jets uniform (98) and was bad, mediocre, or injured the other years.

I wanted him out in 2001, I hated his return last year and I'm happy he's gone now.

F' him and his future ring

If they win a superbowl this year, no way he comes back to the jets, not even a 1 day contract type of bullshit

Wow...disliking someone's play is one thing, but wishing ill on someone who did nothing but give you likely one of the happiest winters of your life is pretty disgusting, even if he is a pat (i'm rooting against the pats, but certainly not b/c of vinny)

Yes, where in that post do I wish him ill? I just think Jet fans WAY overrate Vinny. 1998 was great, but he stuck around for too long thanks to Herm's loyalty.
