Pretty sure this guy is 80sjets trying to be less obvious by adding one compliment then his string if troll complaints.
I saw some of that... but I also saw him take out two Bills defenders at the end of a good run last week. If he's making "business decisions"... I can't really blame him. Dalvin Cook was supposed to carry some of the load... but Hackett is too dumb to establish any kind of offensive identity.
I'm no Saleh fan but hes 100 percent right on this point. Breece has become waaaay too much of a backfield dancer and a lot of runs for no gain/ loss are partly due to his "patience" for the home run hole that's never coming, to open. Cook looked like the much better back against the Fins. Cook and G. Wilson are not playing like the Franchise offensive cornerstones that we wanted them to be, and that they claim to be. Neither has shown the ability to elevate their play and their team's chances of winning in a critical moment over the last several weeks. Rather, they've each been pretty lackluster to downright bad (drops, fumbles, lack of effort prevening a pick-6) during a critical stretch.
I don't blame him. There are no holes, the box is always stacked and the pass is never a threat. They want him to run head first into a pile of defenders all trying to tweak his ankle because they know he is the only threat. The only vision he sees from upstairs is "hope Aaron Rodgers comes back soon." Breece doesn't want to go back on IR for a lost season, so he's starting to make business decisions, and I don't blame him.
Another thing about Breece and I hope this is not where Saleh is coming from. There was a play in the first half where Breece bounced outside and had what I think was his biggest gain, after he stiff armed a dback around the edge. All the blockers were showing run up the middle and Breece turned it outside and turned it into something when it was a garbage play. It's not the first time I've seen him do it. That really better not be where the conflict is.
HC should lookin the mirror. He is in the midst of his sixth three-plus-game losing streak as the Jets’ head coach, Saleh now boasts a 15-30 record (.333) in New York. That hardly clears Gase’s .281 winning percentage at the helm, while Kotite sits in the basement at .125.
Jesus man, on one hand you have Breece who does his after game interview and talks about how the offense needs to be better, he needs to be better, apologizing to Jets fans for this, praising the coaching and emphasizing execution…. On the other you have Sauce literally passing on blame for blown covg on his teammate, and then doubling down about it on Twitter… and Saleh criticizes Breece publicly. Saleh’s days are numbered to Rodgers demands, but I won’t weep one second when he’s out the door. He’s a terrible leader and his defense requires too many high level defenders to be good.
It reminds me of when Bowles was here and we dumped $70 million into our defensive backfield in a single off-season and everyone was like “that’s what Bowles requires for his system!” Every defense is going to be fucking good when you dump an endless supply of resources into a single position group. So irritating.
When you are told enough times that it's a business, eventually you start behaving like a businessman.
Backs are viewed as interchangeable parts in the modern NFL almost like kickers. In 2000 Hall would've been a star carrying the ball 25-35 times per game. Now we're relegated to watching inferior QBs drop back nonstop even when offense isn't producing anything. The man in my avatar would be a nobody in this modern NFL.
The blocking hasn't been there for Breece. He may be guilty of dancing and trying to make bigger plays happen, but he's running into walls of defenders. It doesn't help not having a QB or the threat of a passing game. Really shitty to call him out considering he's had some really nice runs called back for oline and te's holding... This line blocks and Breece would look a heck of a lot better... He's the least of the offense issues. Maybe Saleh is calling him out because he knows Breece is the only player who can make a difference right now on that side of the ball.
Jets need to do more to get breece out in space and on the perimeter…they are making Breece run inside like he’s a David Montgomery/Derrick Henry when he needs to be treated more like Christian McCaffrey it would also help if the OLine was worth a damn and currently, they aren’t.
