So let's run down the Rodgers cosplaying as GM acquisitions: Cobb - 3 receptions on the year Lazard - can't catch the ball, inactive Hackett - arguably worst OC in football Cook - totally ineffective This is why smart GMs with spines don't let players call the shots. Anyway, I hope Brownlee sees some playing time. He seemed to be doing well in training camp.
He was a durable possession WR in GB who was familiar with Hackett. Seemed like an OK signing (albeit an overpay). Seems like a guy who got paid and decided he didn’t want to play football anymore.
Healthy scratching Lazard today officially puts this in the Kenny Golladay territory of disaster. The teflon levels of immunity Rodgers is still getting for *his* fairly extensive contribution to this 2023 train wreck is getting pretty stale at this point. But yeah, que the endless amount of people blaming JD and pretending that just like the Hackett OC hire he actually had a final say choice in the matter.
Hack was before Arod. Cobb was going to be #5/6 vet for cheap, which is where is at now, so I can live with that. Lazard is definitely Rodgers signing, and he is awful. However, Hardman wasn't and he was even worse. It just seems that this offseason JD missed everywhere he hit on offense with or without Arod's advice. Lazard is the biggest shocker though, I didn't quite realize to what extent it was Rodgers who made him look good. It's a job of a GM to realize things like that though. Unfortunately we have him fully guaranteed for another year.
Looks like Randall Cobb will be pulled out of moth balls; he’s active. Gipson, Brownlee and Charles all active, too. Cimini Wow hell of a receiving core for Boyles start. They are really setting him up for success.
took long enough! He and cobbs drop rates were poor in GB, why in the eorld would you sign both knowing that, Oh yea, the real GM wanted them.
JD had an atrocious draft and free agent pickups this past year. Half these guys had no business being here.
It was nice to see Brownlee get some time and some catches. I'd like to see Carter Warren, Tipp, and Mitchell start the rest of the season just for evaluation/experience purposes. Putting in shity veteran OL isn't helping this team win nor helping this team develop for next year. Same with WRs-- the more experience Brownlee and Gipson get the remainder of this season, the better.
I seriously wonder if Lazard has more penalties + drops than he does catches. He’s been absolutely terrible
