I can’t believe they didn’t sign Wentz.

I guess that means the Jets are being run very well.

    What a relief.

the steelers are one of the best coached teams. they haven't suffered major injuries like us. but they still went into the season with that QB room and people here are upset about our backup situation when we traded for a HOF QB. just saying.

That called a false comparison and its a logical fallacy that doesn't support your position.

in what way? the steelers are a very well run team. they've been very successful on a consistent bases for decades. they had a shit QB room and declined to add wentz for even a try out. they are pushing for a playoff spot. why would they not sign him?

The Steelers are on year 2 of the Kenny Pickett experience similar to us with Wilson last year. Let’s see what they do at QB next year entering his 3rd year for the comparison to make sense.

they could have brought him in as a backup just in case right? I mean zach was the backup to start the year. steelers are moving on form rudolph after this season, why not bring in wentz on the PS and release rudolph? were talking about insurances here

Well they’re in the playoffs if the season ended today so obviously their judgement is better than ours on the current QB situations. And they were 9-8 last year.

thats my point. they are better run, better coached, and more successful and yet they had that awful QB room and had 0 interest in wentz even on the PS so why is it so shocking that we had no interest either?

Because we’re about to spiral into another six game losing streak with a playoff roster and they’re probably going to make the playoffs given their schedule? Why would they make a move when they’re winning games?

Prior to the season they couldn't have predicted it. they are winning but barely and we'll see how sustainable it is. their offense has been awful but the schedule has been nice for them. they are playing backup QBs 4 weeks in a row now (just lost to one of them) they are a mirror image of us that had a couple extra balls bounce their way.

They haven’t had a losing season since 2003. So I’d say they had a pretty good idea.

I think your missing my point here.
If a team like the steelers passed on bringing him in, it was probably a wise decision. We could only hope to be the steelers one day and probably never will but it starts with making wise decisions.

They passed on him in a completely different scenario that you’re trying to assert is the same.

    sure it was different.
we traded for a HOF QB after giving up on zach after 2 seasons and making him a backup
they are in year 2 of pickett with trubisky as a back and rudolph on the PS who they gave up on already

still talentwise even wentz probably gives a little more on the field then anyone there not names rodgers so why not PS him up over rudolph in case they need to make a chance from pickett?

I mean I’ve said it several times. They’re winning games and on pace to make the playoffs so why would they disrupt the status quo?

We’re losing games and on pace to not make the playoffs. So we should try our best to not improve that situation because the Steelers who are winning didn’t make the move?

You make a lot of comparisons a lot of times that are nonsensical.

    1) because this should have been before the season started, during camps, and pre-season. they couldn't have predicted they would be 6-4. lets face it, they've been outplayed in every game. they are the only team with a winning record despite being outgained every game and having a negative point differential in NFL history. They've had some good luck, haven't dealt with too many injuries and have a soft schedule so they've benefited from that. if we were playing the same now that we are but won the KC and NE games and were 6-4 i'm sure you'd still be asking why we didn't sign wentz. thats the point

That’s cool but we lost both those games and we’re starting Tim Boyle next week as we’re about to go into a tailspin and lose a bunch of games. The Steelers are playing to maintain their playoff position.

    So no hypotheticals needed.

so you don't think they would have a better chance with wentz to keep that spot? or a better chance to win a playoff game if they keep that spot?

Obviously whatever the Steelers are doing is working better than what the Jets are doing. So whether it’s Wentz or someone else, the Jets made zero effort to improve the backup spot over.

The Jets also have Tim Boyle as a backup while the Steelers probably have a guy on their practice squad that is better than both QB’s than the Jets have on their active roster. So yeah I see why they didn’t add Wentz.

Not to mention, teams pass up on signing players for a variety of reasons and sometimes they’re wrong. The Jets got Quincy on waivers, should we start asking why the Ravens didn’t get him and how fucked up they are for it?

where are you getting your info?

their fans are absolutely complaining this. the media has been asking tomlin about making changes for weeks. najee harris just complained about the direction of their offense after the game. george pickens has been complaining all season.
