The good thing is we have 5 good defensive ends to protect the lead and 1 good receiver whose gotten slaughtered with hospital passes all year to get the lead. Smart drafting. Fucking retard.

McD's tackle for loss itoday was a nice play and also the only impact play he's made this year. Meanwhile, the Jets do not have an above average starting caliber OT on the roster. And that shows weekly.

He is. But don’t you think that could have been an O pick and this D still would have been justtt fine? He looks quicker than any DE I’ve seen and that includes Huff. Kid is a player but my god, how bad is this O?

wait so what is it? They should have drafted a OL or WR? Can’t be both…lack of depth at both spots is damning

This is the kind of pick that makes me think that JD cannot accurately assess his own roster. Maybe McDonald comes around and becomes a good DE, hope he does now that he’s here, but drafting who you think is BPA at a position you’re already strong in is a luxury move you make when you think the team is already strong all around- which the Jets clearly are not.

Exactly. Why did we need him? Idc about f he becomes prime Von Miller, he won’t make a difference in the limited time JD and A rod have here.

So if he becomes a HOF pass rusher for the next decade you won't care? Step away from the keyboard this morning. Holy shit lol.

Taking the best available player, especially a position as important as pass rusher is never a bad idea.

If you are so bad at filling out your roster that you need to pass up a stud at another position to simply reach for the best lineman available at your spot then OL is the least of your problems.

and I get that. but all the WRs weren't hits either. johnstons been pretty bad so far. If it was him or WMD?
again in hindsight it may be a bad pick it may not. no way to know right now but yes obviously WR was a bigger need then edge but seems like we didn't like the WR group. Mayer was 2nd on our board at TE after WMD. Gibbs was the top of our board

Bro, you kididng me? He will become prime Von Miller and by the time that happens, G Wilson will be demanding a trade. Breece will be cycled through as a RB due to wear and tear, A Rod will be in a retiremenet home, Saleh will be coaching St Peters Prep, etc. We had a window, we missed it, and this decision is a major reason why.

I'm not the one who is making insane statements about how you won't care if we have a HOF pass rusher my guy.

I mean, what does it matter when your QB can't even complete a pass to a WR (literally did not complete one pass for Zach last night). Pointless argument, neglected O. See you next year buddy.

You keep saying hindsight because you’re using hindsight. I am not using hindsight since I said all of this at the time.

And I don’t really care who was at the top of our board. I don’t think our board was very well constructed if McDonald was the guy behind Gibbs.

What if one of those first round receivers becomes a HOF receiver for the next decade? No reason to think McDonald is more likely to be a HOFer than one of them.
