Maybe McDonald comes around and becomes a good DE, hope he does now that he’s here, but drafting who you think is BPA at a position you’re already strong in is a luxury move you make when you think the team is already strong all around- which the Jets clearly are not.

Taking the best available player, especially a position as important as pass rusher is never a bad idea. If you are so bad at filling out your roster that you need to pass up a stud at another position to simply reach for the best lineman available at your spot then OL is the least of your problems.

What if one of those first round receivers becomes a HOF receiver for the next decade? No reason to think McDonald is more likely to be a HOFer than one of them.
