they held it to hold everyone accountable. I'm sure zach got some shit. as did GW, breece, uzo, lazard, MC, the o-line etc. they all have been part of the problem.
No, it doesn't. It is the entire point of what you posted - "everyone knows Zach sucks, he's done here" <--- he's still playing, so he's dead man walking and everyone has to deal with it.
like a week ago you were telling us how good Uzomah is and that we dont know what we are watching, now he's part of the problem
you have to deal with a backup QB you don't like. boo hoo. get over it. every team has shit players in some positions. it's the whole point of the NFL with salary cap and parity.
that was like months ago. he was a good run blocker I said. he spring hall on some of his long ones. I literally said to take away snaps from him days ago because he's dropping too many balls and committing dumb penalties. you need to keep up. it's almost like some of us here can change our opinions on a player when they have their ups and downs. uzo has struggled the past month or so and is going to lose snaps for it as he should.
I don't think it was months ago, but I agree we can change our opinions on a player. Maybe it can be a lesson to you to not be such an arrogant ass cause in 2 weeks time you might change your view anyway
this was literally 2 days ago https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/what-can-be-done-to-improve-the-offense-right-now.99612/ "TEs - this one here is pretty simple. I'm pretty high on conk. I think he's been our most consistent player on offense. he's reliable, tough and an all around good TE. I think he remains the starter. Uzo however outside of his run blocking has been bad. drops, penalties, not much YAC potential. Ruckert is a 2nd year 3rd rounder. he looks good and has more on field talent then uzo. he's made his mistakes but let him get more reps to work it out. he's the future. uzo is likely gone after this year. let ruckert take all his snaps" it's called the ability to form an opinion based on current events, and not dig into age old opinions that are no longer valid. things change fast in the NFL. you should also look up what arrogant means because clearly you don't know what it means.
Dude, here you go again. Straw man argument by twisting this into what you want it to be. This isn't "boo hoo we have to deal with a backup" situation. As you've pointed out several times, they did NOT boo hoo for 10 weeks (and running) about the backup. Said backup is losing winnable games for them - regardless of the performance of the other players, the QB has been in position to help the team win games several times and instead lost it outright (this past week) or needed a literal gift from the other team (Philly and the Giants) to get it done. He hasn't gotten them into the endzone in 3+ games and the two times he did before that were a dump off pass where Hall did all the work, and a running play where the Eagles let Hall walk in. So, boo hoo would've been at the start. NOW, the Jets have had MULTIPLE opportunities to show these guys that them making the playoffs is a priority - the ONLY priority - instead, the Jets have chosen to stick with Wilson no matter what. And that no matter what has turned into watching the season spiral down the drain. I would submit that it's already too late. Jets need to go 6-2 the rest of the way to have a realistic shot, and would probably lose tiebreakers. There's NO CHANCE they get to 6-2. And before you go and defend him again, I'm not knocking him. I'm holding him accountable for the truth and for being the guy who SHOULD get them over the hump but can't. And that matters. It matters to the players. The Jets have no problem giving the fans lip service and doing bullshit things they know won't matter just to appease them - they should try it for "the other 52" as well. Even if it doesn't work - show you care.
he's not helping but he sure isn't singlehandedly losing them. also it's the NFL every game is winnable for every team. you cna't say "other players don't matter" then follow it up with "zach hasn't gotten them in the end zone" it's a team effort. if uzo catches that TD and we don't commit a hold on the breece TD (both have nothing to do with zach) your little no TD stat wouldn't be a thing. thats why it's a joke argument. you are blaming zach for the failures of others around him. the issue with that is changing zach doesn't stop those failures. mind you it goes both ways. zach got a TD for doing very little with the hall screen and he got one on a shit throw that GW bailed him out on. He's a bad QB but outside of maybe 15-20 in the NFL they are all bad QBs after that. where are these magic QBs that fall of trees? everyone is on dobbs nuts but he was no better then zach oh and he was 1-7 before being traded and he got beat out by walker and DTR in cleveland before that. everyone loves a hero. a holy foley, or minshew magic but all those guys fizzle. right now we are playing the best option we have at QB. the issues on offense go deeper then 1 player.
I didn't say he was the only reason, I said he had them in position to win despite all the mistakes and he couldn't get it done. Even after all of their screw ups, he's had them in a spot to win and couldn't do it. In fact, even when he got it done, he didn't get it done and then someone showed up at the door with a Christmas gift gram for him. You are completely ignoring my point, I'm not saying they should go out and get a quarterback. I'm not saying the quarterbacks they have would be better, I am simply saying this. Read it, understand it, and stop telling me about Dobbs, Minshew, and any other quarterback in the league : "THE JETS OWE IT TO THE OTHER 52 GUYS ON THE TEAM NOT NAMED ZACH WILSON TO MAKE SOME SORT OF CHANGE TO AT LEAST SHOW THEY GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT THEM. THEY HAVE BUNGLED EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO AND THE ONLY THING THEY HAVE LEFT IS CHANGE FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGE, BUT 52 GUYS BEING TOLD FUCK YOU, WE'RE GOING WITH THIS GUY NO MATTER WHAT IS A LOT WORSE THAN TELLING ONE GUY FUCK YOU, WE'RE GOING WITH THIS GUY." The season is over anyway, no realistic chance of making the playoffs, do something to keep your team from fracturing because it's on its way.
whats your definition of "couldn't get it done" pretty sure he has the most game winning drives/4th quarter comebacks this season so he's getting it done at times. just not consistently. he did against the bills, eagles, broncos, and giants. He didn't really get a chance against KC due to the refs fucking us. he failed against LV, and the pats. we never had a shot in the dallas or LAC game. thats 4 success against 2 failures? Now to be fair with a better QB we likely aren't in those desperate times but he also looks handcuffed by the CS until we have no choice. The issue really lays a lot with saleh and hackett playing "not to lose" football instead of playing to win. The problem with your "point" is benching zach shows them the opposite. it shows them that they have given up on the season. the other 52 guys watch all the film and practice. they don't want zach benched. they don't see him as the main issue. saleh has already explained this. If zach was to lose the locker room then I'd agree with you to bench him because he owes it to the other players, but he hasn't done that yet and until he does your point is moot.
He was no longer the backup 4 plays into the season. There were much better options. Hell, why not trade Zach for a late round pick? If his salary is stuck with us and he’s as useless as he is why not dump him? Your mentality of “cheaper to keep her” is literally the basis of all relationship misery. Yeah, keep her and be fucking miserable for the rest of your life or accept the sunken cost of your current failure and move on. It’s literally a perfect example of how to waste the entire gift of your being alive by keeping in a miserable relationship and home because it costs money to leave and pursue happiness. While it may be cheaper on your wallet, living in misery is far more costly than and dollar value. In this case you’re advocating for accepting misery because why, they couldn’t afford to cut Zach and employ a competent backup like Mike White for 4m? I’m literally watching teams all around the league signing players when you scratch your head wondering where they get all this cap space. Yet we have to employ the most expensive waste of space in the league and force misery on a fanbase because it’s cheaper to keep him? Bullshit. He brings zero value. He’s a complete liability to the team and he’s costing millions of dollars to his teammates. It is definitely NOT cheaper to keep him.
I’m sure they had a players only meeting to tell Zach how sorry they are for letting him down and how thankful they are that he’s the starter hahaha. Listen, I know you’re a troll. No one is dumb enough to believe the bs you’re trying to spin.
Penalty flag on this play. Stats without context. 15 yards, loss of down. Giving him credit for 4th quarter comebacks against the Eagles and Bills is hilarious.
How do you know what they want? You have absolutely no idea what they want. The Jets have simply done a better job as an organization of schooling these guys on how to be a better teammate. Ok, let's talk about Zach getting it done based on your ridiculous assertion that he's got the most 4th qtr comebacks (stats don't matter though, right?): Bills: decent enough job getting them back in the game, but the game was won on a punt retun in overtime. I'll give him this because they were down 10 at one point. Fine, take it if you like. Eagles: 4 FGs and a safety, big huge comeback. The Eagles had that game won if they hadn't thrown the ball after the 2-minute warning. And they LET HALL WALK IN - after an interception started them at the 7. Sure, Zach worked hard for that one. Chiefs: his ONLY really truly good game showing NFL QB skills, and it was only for 2 quarters. He fumbled the ball away with the game on the line. And the refs surely screwed us, but we still would've had to get into position to score and we STILL had opportunities after they made the bad call on Sauce and missed the holding penalties. Sure, go ahead and excuse his fumble if you want - I'm sure it was someone else's fault. Giants: please stop. That's not a "comeback". He made two good throws with a relaxed defense that gave him the middle of the field and the Jets were EXTREMELY lucky the clock didn't run out. I mean, it doesn't get any more gifty than that. I won't even go into detail on the Giants stupidity inside the final minute. This does NOT qualify as a comeback, I'm sorry. Broncos: another legit comeback I'll give him. Jets were down by a fair margin and they got it done. But realistically, the defense saved their asses on this yet again. But I'll give it to him. So, just like the Jets season, he could have 0 true comebacks as much as he could have the 4 you're giving him. But I ask you this (I know you'll strawman it, but I'll ask anyway): which of those "comebacks", in any of those 4 games, did you find him to truly impressive consider it a true comeback? Rules to this debate: you cannot say "if only this had happened, that would have been a comeback" if you are going to discount and ignore the times it went his way. Go.
you can't trade him because of the cap lol i've explained this already. and before you talk about lance it's different. they got away with it because purdy is making pennies. rodgers isn't. having purdy on a 7th round rookie contract gave them cap room to do it. he's unmovable in the current cap situation.
i'm sure they ripped into zach too. but zach, the o-line, uzo, MC, cook, breece, GW, and lazard all probably heard some harsh realities. really outside of conklin everyone on the offense has taken turns fucking us over.
He also had 46 yards in that 4th quarter against the Bills that he gets credited with. One was a 24 yard pass to Lazard that was thrown about 8 yards in the air although it was a good play in the pocket (https://www.nfl.com/videos/zach-wilson-barely-stays-upright-for-key-24-yard-completion-to-lazard). We got the ball at the Bills 27 and our own 43 on two Josh Allen turnovers and then as you said - the punt return to win.
for the bills, he tied the game up with 5 mins left. mind you the pass was shit and GW bailed him out but it was the right read and he threw up a ball that gave his best WR a chance to make a play on and GW made the play. it shuold have been a 50/50 ball but zach threw a 5/95 ball and GW made a spectacular catch. The D got us a FG after that for the lead, then let up a FG for OT. the D made the OT stop and gipson took the PR for a TD. obviously the D was the major reason we won but allen is an elite QB and he didn't come through at all. for the eagles he didn't really do anything at all in the 4th so thats pretty fair.
because the media would be reporting on it. like they are doing with the pats right now. shit always leaks. yes stats don't matter. I did admit above the eagles game he didn't do anything to earn that 4th quarter comeback. the bills game though he did enough over allen who didn't. he gave GW a chance to make a play to take the lead with 5 mins left. it was a shit pass but GW made a play on it. considering i've seen many WRs bail out shit passes to save their QB i'm not going to discount the 1 time zach is the benefit of it, especially when pickens does it several times a game for pickett and zach has dealt with lazard. as far as impressive? probably just the giants game. the LV game too TBH. even though it didn't work out. that throw to conk and the hail mary were pretty damn impressive the broncos wasn't a comeback, we had the lead going into the 4th
