Hackett needs to stop passing so much. The Jets just aren't establishing the run, they are using it situationally. I'd much rather see a 50/50 rushing : passing, but being behind in games all the time doesn't help that cause.
it's easier said then done. everyone complained we didn't pass enough especially on 1st down. then we passed on 1st down like 75% of the time last game. now we are passing too much. whether you are up or down in a game determines if you can run more or have to throw. our rushing success has been poor. the stats are skewed due to home run balls from breece but most of our early down runs go for 2 or less yards. you can't sustain drives like that. the line isn't run blocking well enough and hackets runs are all right up the gut for no to minimal gain unless breece breaks 8 tackles and takes it to the house. trying to establish a run resulted in too many 3rd and longs which resulted in too many 3 and outs. the game we ran more we barely converted any 3rd downs. I think less then 10%. when we passed more on 1st down we converted almost 50% of 3rd downs last game you have to look at game flow and whats working and adjust form there and also be more creative in the run game since we don't have the talent to just lineup and win at the point of attack
I am too curious to see what others can do. I know there are changes and Ruckert getting more reps and we ll finally see Izzy. I have a feeling that ZW will be on a short leash vs Bills if we get behind quickly and he doesn’t produce points.
You could be right about ZW--but the wise move is to have Boyle take all snaps during practice week and then have ZW ready to come in for 2nd half if Boyle shits the bed--just the opposite of what NYJ may be planning.

Hard to run when teams are putting 8 and 9 in the box bc the QB cant throw 75% of the basic required NFL passes.
Could be wrong, but I think Douglas/Saleh will have Zach take every snap in 2023 barring injury. They won't admit Zach was a totally wasted #2 overall. I have completely changed my mind on Joe Douglas. The sooner the jets get rid of him, the better. He has overseen 4 drafts for the jets and in 3 he has all but wasted our first round picks--Becton, Z. Wilson, and McDonald.
There are plays available to take advantage of every defensive alignment. Whether or not Hackett is familiar with them is the question...
Do we really need to remember? He’s just as bad today as he was in 2021. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about Zach as QB. Nothing. He’s not getting better, this is the Zach Wilson that was and will always be.
Zach isn’t aware of shit. He’s not aware of who to throw to, he’s not aware of how to throw to someone properly half the time, he certainly isn’t aware of defensive schemes, and he’s not aware of offensive concepts either. But hey he connected on a no look pass, he’s so cool!!
Yeah that one was a head scratcher. He can't process some of the most basic stuff but he's throwing a no-look in traffic on a crosser.
