This is the kind of pick that gets you fired as a GM. It was so clear they wanted Jones (UGA RT) and we had no backup plan. Bryce Huff has made a HUGE leap, and the plethora of DE...what an awful pick. Look, there are only so many players that can alter a team and a round 1 pick is usually the best bet. So so bad. And I think he is a good player, he just won't get a chance to play with our DE depth. Sauce fell to us, Garrett fell to us, both as the 2nd player at their position taken but my god. Very poorly put together team. Lawson, Lazard, Laken Tomlinson, etc. Not a lot of good FA signings.

The sad thing is it feels like we are doing the same thing all over again during the Mo Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson years lol. A DE? WHY??????????? And look at Joe Tippman, easily the most important player on our OL this year with Becton. He has been a staple and a good pick in round 2.
we didn't want jones. we already seen the footage from the war room. we wanted gibbs but he went 12th to the lions. WMD was the top on their board at the time after gibbs was taken.
same reason hackett had dillion and jones at RB in GB. and same reason we signed cook. we wanted a 1B to go with hall's 1A. plus he was still recovering from injury and was on a pitch count the 1st month or so
Disagree here. WMD is going to be similar to JJ in development. He's getting there and just starting to show some flashes. Pass rush is important and we don't know if Huff is even going to be here next year. If I'm him, I'm running for the hills.
I like Will McDonald, he will be a good player here. I am just saying, for a GM on his last breath here, why would he do that? Unless he has a lifetime contract. He has assembled historically the worst offense ever this year. Should have went O in round 1 as it would have immediately helped. Huff, JJ, and JFM would have been fine and been able to keep all.
Actually JJ/Huff and JFM/Clemons would have been ideal with JJ and Huff in the Nascar Downs. Why Will McDonald? No freaking idea. It's Mo Wilkerson drafting year after year all over again.
Mac should've taught us that drafting without considering need is foolish. We burned a mid 1st round pick on a player at the deepest position group on our team by far, and on the less important side of the ball.
he was gameplanned off the game day roster. jets went heavier. activated lawson and started with 3 LBers (sherwood had his 1st start) because they knew LV was going to focus on running with jacobs

I'm with you on this. I actually like that the Jets have a bit of a developmental plan for their picks but I'm not sure the timetable lines up with the window to win on the field.
Exactly. I am a big fan of the player, not the pick, because our OL stinks, we have no backup QB, idk...we are the worst rated O in the league, we need help at many positions and I mean MANY. DE is not the move We would ave been fine re-signing Huff next year with JJ/JFM.
