How come Norm Chow hasnt been mentioned at all for any HC jobs? People said he would be an option in Arizoa but I dont think he ever got interviewed. Id think he would be alot more popular then Brian S.
great news....now we hopefully we can get him a marque running back to use, and hopefully brad smith can develop into a solid deep threat receiver as opposed to simply a gadget guy
I wonder about Chow, but he has a few things working against him. First, he is 61-years-old which isn't good for a league trending toward younger coaches. Also there had to be a reason that after 27 years at BYU he was passed over for the head coaching gig a few years back. Obviously, I don't know much about him, but he seems like a guy that is perfect as a coordinator, but is not head coaching material. Then again, may be that is because no one ever gave him a chance.
Here is the news Jets fans want to read via ESPN: Updated: Jan. 15, 2007, 5:25 PM ET Schottenheimer pulls out of running for Dolphins jobBy Len Pasquarelli ESPN.com New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, believed to be one of the front-runners for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy, withdrew from consideration for the position on Monday, league sources told ESPN.com. The sources did not elaborate on a reason for Schottenheimer's surprising decision. Schottenheimer is the son of San Diego Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer. One of 12 candidates interviewed by Miami officials since coach Nick Saban left the Dolphins to accept the job at the University of Alabama, Schottenheimer was among a group called back for follow-up sessions with team officials. He was to have met with Miami executives on Monday, but canceled the trip. Some observers felt that Schottenheimer, who has been an NFL assistant for eight seasons, had the inside track to the Dolphins' job. Over the past two days, the Dolphins met for a second time with former Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora and Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey. Club officials have not revealed the finalists for the job, said how many candidates will be granted interviews or publicly discussed a timetable for filling the position. In his first season as a coordinator, Schottenheimer led the Jets to just a No. 25 statistical ranking in total offense. But the New York offense was better than that number indicates, and Schottenheimer, viewed as a rising star in league circles, was instrumental in resurrecting the career of quarterback Chad Pennington. Schottenheimer, 33, was a college quarterback at Kansas (1992) and Florida (1993-96), and began his coaching career at Syracuse in 1999. He also served on the staff at Southern California in 2000. His NFL experience includes tours of duty with St. Louis (1997), Kansas City (1998), Washington (2001) and San Diego (2002-2005).
wow why the hell would he pull out? The only two things I can think of are he's getting an offer from someone else or we offered him a raise to stay.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2732215 Brian Withdrew from the list. HAHAHAHAHA. He got his senses straight and knew what was best for him.
Why would he want that job 1. AFC EAST is Brutal 2. He could probably get a better job next year or the year after 3. Something good going on with the Jets were as in Miami it would be ridiculous. and the list goes on and on. There was so many bad cons going into this that it makes all the sense in the world
The posters at FinHeaven are now reporting that Mora has been hired and will be introduced on Wednesday. http://www.finheaven.com/boardvb2/showpost.php?p=1061695375&postcount=36
Aren't they kind of tied into Culpepper right now? Don't know what the contract situation is, but I figured he'd be locked in for at least a couple more years.
Hard to say. They allready have enough QB mess down there. What happens with Cullpeper and Harrington?
