it's goal post moving though at it's finest. those people use the overall record of the 2 to say they should be fired, but even when they win it's "they still suck, they got lucky, we should have lost etc etc fire them anyway"
Well he’s at home on his couch now. But even when he was playing he was only putting up 30 catches over the whole season. Typically people would expect more than that. But you have some low expectations
He is 2nd worst in the league in drop % at 19%. He really hasn't been that good since he's gotten here.
Strongly disagree. It just means we most likely wouldn't have Cook right? I think I would take CD over Cook...
what does him retiring have to do with anything? he wound up being the top FA WR that season in an offseason where we really needed one. galladay was the "defacto top WR" and got 18mil to be absolute ass and out of the NFL already. We had him miscast as a WR1 until GW came along but davis was really good in a low volume offense with AJ brown as the WR1 and made some really good plays for us. he has had some drops sure, but he's also made some clutch catches. I'm not sure where you got that number form but I just looked for 2022 and he had 2 drops on 36 catch-able balls which is 5% not 19%. I also don't think just drop rate is a good determining factor. chase is a top WR in the NFL and had 10 drops on 99 catch able balls so 10% double that of davis. deebo had 9 in 65 so 14% and he's a pro bowler. adams had 8 in 109 so 7% higher then CD and adams is regarded as a top 3 WR in the NFL. hill is 8 out of 127 6% and is also top 3 in the NFL so this argument is pretty lame. every WR even the best ones drop passes at times. GW is 5 for 91 so 5% same drop rate as davis. So overall pretty poor argument there https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-wr.php?year=2022 edit: you may be confused, we were talking about corey davis and his contract. not lazard. I think you were referencing lazard in your post
Yeah I saw Lazard mentioned in one of your earlier posts and scrolled quickly and missed it. The 19% was for Lazard, not CD. My mistake
got it. someone was shitting on the davis signing and IDK why because it was a good signing. lazard was signed here as a high paid WR3. he's making high end 3/low end 2 money but it was also a favor to rodgers who we were courting. so I don't think 11mil/year is bad for him either. probably a little high but not awful and in the grand scheme of things had rodgers not blew his Achilles would look alot better. He's making less then tim patrick, the same as jacobi myers, and slightly more then russel gage, and MVS. out of the 5 of them i'd say he's tied for the best of the group with myers and better then the other 3 by quite a bit. at least we didn't give odell 15mil who looks completly washed right now
not true at all. I didn't like the cook signing and was even trashed here by people when I said he is declining and likely washed I also didn't like the hardman signing but said he's a WR4 so it's whatever.
First off... I was aghast that the OP usurped the Studs & Duds thread... the fact that it was a lame-ass post is beside the point. How dare he! We have tradition and convention for a reason... I like the rankings... even the Zach nod. Complaining about him at this point is like picking a scab. Shitty conditions where players were dropping like flies... take the W and move on.
you know whats funny? I don't remember who used to do it. I just know someone did and they stopped at some point or left the forum or whatnot and we had weeks without one so I just started doing it because it's like a weekly tradition and usually one of the better threads discussion wise. I really don't mind if someone wants to take it over, I just did it because nobody was but this was a lame bitching thread with 0 effort that could have been named "fire everyone" and would have been locked so yeah it did kind of kill it for a week but it's whatever. as far as the zach complaining goes, the ironic thing is say we never traded for rodgers and zach went down week 1 and boyle came in and played like zach is right now, people would be praising him. the issue is some fans can't get the stink of "failed 2nd OA pick" off him to be fair to his new role and how he's playing now.
Lazard is paid as the 27th highest receiver average per year salary in the league. He is not paid as a high 3 or low 2. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/average/wide-receiver/ I’d consider Mack Hollins or Nick Ikine Westbrook or even Zay Jones as a 3 salary-wise.
if you are talking about the odell part, a GM who everyone here says is great, yet if JD gave odell 15mil they would hate him for it. thats worse then cook at 8 mil easily.
you have to account for players who are top WRs but on rookie deals so you can't just go by AAV. you have to go by free agency market. you add in their value. GW will be a 20+ mil a year WR by the time his contract is up (hell maybe even 30 depending on growth in the market) but only counts 5mil AAV but that isn't his true value on the market. for example metcalf is the 6th highest paid WR in the NFL and he's good but he's not top 6. doesn't mean he's overpaid. compare him to WRs in tge same range (plus or minus 1 mil AAV) and its gallup, patrick, samual, lazard, myers, boyd, gage, MVS and micheal thomas. thomas is cheap because he's only played 18 games total in the past 4 years due to injury so signed a 1 year prove it deal plus he hit 30. all of those guys are "top 32" in the NFL but clearly not WR1s on the flipside chase is a WR1 at 7.7mil because rookie deal, as is waddle. GW, olave, devonta smith, and london are WR1s on rookie deals. all of those guys will be 20+ mil on their new deals. chase might hit 30.
