I think I'll like the other studs and suds way more than this one.

No studs? C'mon now. It was a bad weather game.

Jermaine Johnson - despite the BS penalty, had 2 sacks, 2 TFLs, and 4 QB hits
Breece Hall - made the play that lead to the only TD the Jets had. Rushing stats not so good, but had 76 receiving yards.
Thomas Morstead - It was a field position game and Morstead pinned em within the 20 four times including a couple within the 5. Made the crucial hold on a bad snap on one of the FGs, probably saving the game. Got more yards than the whole offense.
Greg Zuerlein - 2/2 in shitty weather conditions. Accounted for half the team points.

The entire offense outside of Breece & Garrett were duds.

Other teams fans bury Zach Wilson as well. He buries himself on the bottom of the stat charts.

He will always be discussed after every game he plays for the Jets. If it’s crappy play, expect to hear about his crappy play. If it’s mediocre play, expect to hear “now do it consistently” and/or “massive bust if this is his ceiling”, etc.

Do you hear people shitting on Breece and Garrett after every game? No, you don’t, because they’re good players who consistently have positive impacts on the games.

Yeah, I feel like I said something about him in the game thread.

I know we're really banged up on the OL now so maybe a trade for someone on the OL with take precedence but GW is the only WR we have that can consistently create separation. I really hope they make a move for a WR before Tuesday.

It probably won't be for a Davante Adams/Courtland Sutton/Jerry Jeudy type player but Lazard is very clearly not a good WR2. If he's your 3rd/4th option in the passing game, you're probably doing ok but he can't be your 2nd option.

Agreed. I got bitched at all off-season for saying Lazard is a jag. There weren’t many options out there and it was just a Rodgers swayed signing but still.

Lazard is not a jag. He was brought in as WR3 behind Garrett WR1 and Corey Davis WR2. It's not Lazard fault our WR2 retired, forcing Lazard onto the field 90% of the passing plays. He has made a few great, game winning catches. Not tons, but enough NOT to be called a jag. He's a decent #3.

Also, I’m sure he’d look a bit better with AR at QB instead of Zach

Banging at least 3 punts inside the 5 yard line is quality ya dingus.

I'm going to nominate a guy for stud which may be controversial - Xavier Newman, the C who replaced Schweitzer who replaced McGovern. Aside from the first snap which was boggled, I thought this guy did a pretty good job under the circumstances. It seemed to me, and maybe I'm wrong, that after he came in, Zach had a better pocket to throw from especially toward the end of the game. In any case, we didn't hear his name called, and for a center, that's doing a good job.

    Edit: Newman, not Holland.

Nice call... after that bungled snap I thought things were gonna go from bad to worse.

When I watch the game again I'll pay attention to how he looked blocking.

The snap wasn’t the centers fault either. I understand it’s an exchange between two players that haven’t worked together but if you ask any football coach that coaches a QB, the exchange is always on the QB no matter what from under center.

Tough to get on Wilson for it because he was on his 3rd center in 20 snaps but it is still ultimately the QB’s responsibility.

We don’t hear much about Lazard, Carter, and the rest of the phantom WRs or TEs either, and they have down very little, If at all.

He damned near sailed one over his head also and Wilson caught it. Not what you would expect from any center. But he settled down nicely.

He got on board after the first snap very nicely. Good call.

Yeah shotgun snaps are the centers fault for sure when they’re bad. Pretty impossible spot with a wet ball for the kid at center too.

I don’t get how Laken Tomlinson or Turner weren’t the emergency centers though. A kid whose been on the active roster for 18 hours was?

Agree completely. I give the kid tons of credit. I’m a bit suspect about the O coaches ability to actually navigate thru hard times. I think Hack went brain dead when AR went down. Still not showing a game plan that is a little friendlier to a struggling QB behind a soft OL.
