It's what everyone expected going into the bye with Rodgers. Crazy to think we could be 4 and 2 if not for the refs robbing us. If only we had an offense we would be legit super bowl contenders. This was the most amazing defensive game by any Jets team ever ??
The D was flying all over today. Our backups did a great job in the secondary. I honestly can't remember a better overall performance by a Jets D against a legit SB contender
This was a great defensive performance in any sense, but given Gardner and Reed being out, this might have been their best defensive performance in a decade.
It's definitely up there. I'm not sure I'll ever witness a better performance than that one against the Pats in that divisional round game at the end of the 2010 season, but this was one that definitely deserves to be mentioned up there.
Interesting report by Rosenblatt here: Aaron Rodgers was on the headset and, per source, was an active voice today giving suggestions to #Jets coaches. Not sure if that's good or bad considering how awful we looked in the RZ.
Well, well..who would jabe though..with ZW as QB and our starting CB out. Great win and something to build on. have to fix the O, FG just aren't good enough.
Absolutely awesome game and clean, perfect finish by the D. Game ball to the D. Perfect time to enter the bye week. Way too many injuries that need healing. After such a gut wrenching victory I much look forward to increase the momentum by bringing back our key starters in great health. Be it Garrett, Reed, Sauce, Izzy, Carter and hopefully Tipp amongst others. My biggest worry bar none for the second stretch continues to be the breadth and depth of the OL, I also worry about our CS preparation after the bye, as we almost always come out flat as a pancake. I also want to see the best players play, Cook, Lawson, Cobb and Mercole are not carrying their weight at all. Also hope to hear of some trades to increase our weak areas.
How about the playoff game with Herm as the HC and they shut out the Colts? Then there was that game from the '80s vs Denver on Monday Night Football. This is definitely up there with them.
I think we're stuck with Cook, and I don't want Cobb going anywhere, but would love to see Mecole Hardman and Lawson getting traded for OL depth or even for another WR or draft picks for next year.
Zach isn't very good yet but the coaching staff really doesn't want him to turn the ball over. As long as the defense keeps them in the game that is the #1 priority. So far so good.
And yet he's outplayed 4 of the best QBs in the NFL. And by that, I don't mean statistically per se, but it was they, not Zach who folded under pressure. You can call it luck or a fluke, but doing it 4 times rules that out in my book.
Allowing him to fire a beauty to Garrett for 40 yards from our own end zone says otherwise to me. They are starting to open it up
Maybe, but he's faced 5 of the toughest defense in the NFL and done pretty well despite so many saying he shouldn't even be on the team.
