A poster on another site and I had a discussion about this very thing. I had forgotten, but Zach was diagnosed with ADHD when he was a teenager. The poster's son is in college and has ADHD. He shared with me at length the struggles his son has both with ADHD and with the medication he takes for the ADHD. The medication helps, but also hurts in some ways. It makes him more focused, but when the medicine is fully in his body (morning and early afternoons), it affects his Executive Function in dealing with prioities in that it makes them all equal, rather than keeping them ordered. In the late afternoon and evening when the level of medicine in his system is waning, his Executive Function returns to normal. If that is happening with Zach, then I can understand why he has had some of the mental difficulties that he's had reading the Ds, processing, and in his decision making about where and when to throw the ball, especially for 1:00 games. I hope that's not the case, as that may be something that he can't get regulated, and will affect him his whole career and keep him from ever reaching his potential.
he’s a grown man. ADHD is for kids. If I was a GM and heard he was still complaining about it there’s no way I would ever draft him
Thank you for explaining. He wasn't the only one who found it sort of offensive. I didn't say anything before, but I had never heard of Baghdad Bob, so it sounded racist to me, which really shocked me. I never would have thought that you would say something racist like that.
Oh good. Joe spent the second overall pick on a guy that is medicated for being a spaz. I guess that explains his strange childish behavior on the sideline.
Adult ADHD still effects many people even though many kids outgrow it as they mature If that’s the case with Z Wilson we can only look to results and his medication use is a health /HIPPA protected private issue He has to win games ..period
JFK had ADHD. So does Bill Gates. https://www.uopeople.edu/blog/8-of-the-worlds-most-successful-people-with-adhd/
Based on what I've seen from Cook so far, I"m not sure that he can earn his cash. Hopefully, he can/will, but I'd rather watch Abanikanda earn his and then some.
Based on the stats, the Jets should be able to beat Denver with either the run or the pass. I hope that the players aren't feeling that way, however. I hope that they view the Broncos as they did the Chiefs, and if they get an early lead, they need to stay aggressive, not let the Broncos come back like they did against the Bears. If Saleh and Hackett are worth a damn, they took note of Denver's comeback, and will beat it into their players' heads not to start coasting or taking it for granted, but to keep their foot on the Broncos throats and show the killer instinct. For that matter, hopefully, they saw what happened to their own offense vs KC, once they tied the game and they went back into conservative mode, and learned their lesson from that. If not, look for another crushing defeat.
I totally agree that we need to learn how to start better, but I also have some concerns that if they do jump out to an early lead, that the players will start coasting and think they already have the game won, and then Denver will come back like they did against the Bears. They need to show that once they get ahead, they stay aggressive, keep their foot on the gas and on the throats of the Broncos, and show that they have the killer instinct.
That's definitely another way it could play out, Jets get a lead, everybody's excited, other team comes back and wins. I just remember the ones where they never get out of the starting gate at all so much more. Sent from my SM-S908U1 using Tapatalk
I disagree that is the only way the Jets lose, and in fact, I don't think it's the most likely way they lose. They can survive a TO or two. What they won't survive is if they either come out flat thinking they already have the game won and that Denver will just lay down, or if they jump to an early lead and either Saleh/Hackett goes conservative or if the players start coasting and don't stay disciplined and focused.
Yep, and they need to learn to cover and tackle. Put Sauce on Sutton the whole game and neutralize their best weapon. But I bet that Saleh won't do that. He's too damned stubborn.
