because everything is relative. you judge players, GMs, coaches, etc against each other. not using some made up formula in your head in a bubble with no basis behind it/

Lynch went 13-3 in his third season as GM and made it to the Super Bowl. Why did you leave that part out?
All of our GMs for the last 40 years have been as good as John Lynch because none of them won the superbowl.
I think you're looking a little bit too deep into this. NFL experience is NFL experience. If a rookie gets injured and misses the entire season, would you really say he's going into his 2nd year after that? I wouldn't. Nobody's bypassing the truth. If you aren't playing games, you aren't getting experience, that's just the way it goes. Sam Darnold was in a similar boat missing many games his first few years. It's part of the reason I wanted to keep him and trade down that #2 that was used on Zach Wilson.
yeah he did that in year 3, and still had a losing record as a GM even with the year 3 record. he also whiffed on 2 out of 4 1st round picks at that point. then went 6-10 the year after and whiffed on 1 of his 2 1st rounders again. then traded 3 1st rounders to move up to 3 and whiffed on a QB 3rd overall. Again this is the guy who is considered one of the best in the league, yet fans here crucify JD for making less mistakes then one of the best GMs. not even an average GM but comparing him to 1 of the best, he's made way less mistakes. I'm not trashing lynch, i'm putting things in perspective. of lynch was our GM you people here would hate him. JD gets all this shit for drafting zach, imagine if he traded 3 1sts to draft zach? or had 10 1st round picks and only got 3 good players out of it, 1 no longer with the team?

So far, the biggest difference in Zach from a previous incarnation, is so apparent to me, when I watch his pressers. And last week, was really the first time he was able to translate it onto the field... personal maturity. Take a second & think back to last season, his pressers... then listen/watch him today. And this is after 3 straight losses. As a person, his transformation is kinda remarkable... he deserves so much credit for facing some crazy adversity, and at the very least taking those lessons, & growing up. Seriously, at last season's end, who expected this? I just hope that Hackett & Dowling continue to evolve with Zach, & they don't revert to the fearful O of yore. Today's presser -----> .
As much as I dislike Wilson, the positive going for him, he's got all the tools to be a successful QB in this league, hopefully he can figure his head out. He needs more than a couple quarters a game, a couple times a year, hopefully things can even put for him.
No one is giving much for a RB, in today's NFL, they're a dime a dozen, the days of ground and pound, and a single RB getting 30 carries are a thing of the past.

If we had a year 3 GM that had; Taken us to a Superbowl Drafted a Pro-Bowl TE in the 5th Round Drafted a Pro-Bowl LB in the 3rd Round Drafted a Pro-Bowl, Game Changing Edge Rusher @ pick #2 Drafted a Pro-Bowl, Offensive cheat code WR/RB in the 2nd round Had also just drafted another very good LB with decent starters elsewhere .....I think we'd like him. JD completley blows any pick below Round 2 and the 'bankers' that he takes early, whilst very capable, are not guys who will break the game for you.
Of course he'd be going into his second year. You can add a footnote if it makes you feel better, but the NFL, the union, the team and the player all know that you don't get the time back if you don't get on the field. Zach Wilson is in his third year in the NFL - deal with it! Do you really want to go back through every player's record and start counting his time slower because he missed a few games in a couple of seasons? Are you looking to extend him if he gets benched for lousy play or a lousy attitude? Should we count the special teams guys at a different rate because they only get in a few plays every week?
