I was absolutely shocked w the McDonald pick. Wonder what Douglas is thinking some days. You cannot waste #1 picks, although he tries.

Herman Edwards was the same way coaching the jets. He was so loyal to the old vets and high salary players even when they were WAY past their prime.

I would release Lawson and Cook now, take the cap hit, and open up time for younger better players.

he had the 3rd most snaps of any DE behind JFM and JJ so he's basically the 1st backup ahead of lawson and WMB and clemens. it's likely becaus he's still a liability in the run game. the game plan for KC was to limit mahomes and make them win by running. thats why huff had more snaps and woods was inactive.

He looks slow to me. I wonder if he's fully healthy or if his offseason work actually decremented his speed/ explosiveness.

Huff should have started knowing Chiefs come out fast scoring points.

Huff misuse early in the game is MY ultimate reason we ultimately lost the game. We could have limited the scoring opportunities with him on the field.

Why not play your best rusher against the best passer in the league?

The run game gashed us - but defense stopped the run when it counted. Let the Pacaio guy run crazy - harder way for Chiefs to win versus the easy way which is Mahomes lighting you up.

He would have been a hero had he not been fucking mugged on that Mahomes 3rd and forever run.

Yea, it's almost like he's a tweener of too big and too small. Idk.

As crazy as it sounds, if a guy like Maxx Crosby wants out, you package him and one of our other slew of DE's for him.

This is from Oct 2020--just reflecting on history--no motive

What do you think of Cashman and Huff? I like them as solid pieces.

Huff has a good game for sure last week with that big contain play on the reverse. I know nothing about him TBH.
Cashman is meh. A lot of people liked him. He's definitely a good player to have on the roster but I don't really think I'd want him as a starting ILB. Hope I'm wrong and he develops into a nice player.

I hope they continue to give Huff more snaps, even against the run. He looks like a guy to pay, but let's see what he can do with more snaps on a week to week basis. Lawson is going to be a goner. I don't see why they can't resign Huff to team with JJ, McDonald, JFM & Clemons (who will probably play inside a lot)

I think the run game stuff has been overblown since he looks at least like he’s put on a lot of weight this year. I remember him as looking like a 225 pound string bean when he first got here. If he’s anywhere near 245/250 he’ll be fine against the run. Most ends will as long as Q’s in the mix penetrating.

I posted in another thread that it's great to see Huffs snap count get up top 40% vs KC. JJ was at 50% and Lawson was at 20%. If we could get Huff up to like 45-47 it would be awesome.

A rotation of Huff/JJ/WMD and kicking JFM outside for a small % of the time would be fine

Yes, but this was the only pressure (well should have been a pressure) he generated the whole game. JJ's pass win rate is very low, while Huff is one of the League leaders. Huff is much more valuable player right now than JJ and needs to play a lot more. The rotation should be JFM and Huff starting, and JJ picking up the remainder with McD a 3d and long specialist. Lawson shouldn't play at all.

Huff is at the level of Hendrickson or Judon right now, and these guys need to play a lot. JJ is a good run stopper and has a role too, but he is not a star player like Huff.

Huff is by far the best pass rusher we have, definitely one of my favorites, has a lot of heart, and a big motor, they need to get this guy under contract.
Lawson is a bum, he needs to be sent packing.

I agree. Just would be interested to see the average YPC with Huff on the field.
