Hackett’s best called game by far

and zach did a good job executing it. Maybe it was rodgers being there or something. IDK but something clicked for zach in the 2Q and for the rest of the game. the 1st Q he looked lost.

I really hope Hackett learns a lesson from this game. I'm wary though because it seemed like he started to revert to his old ways a bit towards the end of the game.

This was the first game all season where the playcalling was mostly imaginative and unpredictable. We passed on first down. We passed on 2nd and 3rd down with few yards to go. We ran on seemingly passing downs. We NEED to keep that up. We are utterly screwed if we don't.

Trust Zach a little bit. He's going to make some mistakes, but we are far likelier to win with playcalls like we saw last night than what we saw during the first 3 weeks. You cannot refuse to let a QB pass until obvious passing downs and expect him to do well.

Oh, and Cook should never touch the ball again this season.

Yes, but they were plenty of wide open guys vs NE all game long.....

Yes, but you continue to ignore the massive effect that calling plays that signal you have no confidence in your QB translates to a QB who plays scared and becomes myopic. There was a tectonic shift in the game plan from last night vs those he's been given previously. A confident player is a completely different animal than a second guessing one. Opening the game with three straight passing plays sent a clear signal to Zach and everyone else that things would be different. When was the last time they opened a game with Zach at QB like that? IIRC this was the first time ever.

It's about time they finally played to Zach's strengths and not his weaknesses.

    it resulted in a punt.

And week 1 when Wilson took the field after Rodgers' injury they called 3 straight pass plays to start. So not only was it not the first time ever, it was not even the first time this short season

There was a lot more creativity. The running and passing plays were better designed. First few weeks there were too many dives, slants and screens. It is still a little predictable when they bring Cook in though but overall a much better performance when it comes to play design

I’m buying into a little the whole “he didn’t have camp + recovering from surgery” argument. He has until the giants game, then he’s done re:cook

Hackett is gonna have to open it up quite a bit against the Eagles.
    We have to score touchdowns.

It's a game that we're expected to lose (7 pt. dogs)... but I feel good about our chances.

i really can't see us winning.
they have 2 #1 WRs, a top QB who's also a running threat, a top o-line and great run game with swift, and a dominant d-line. they are weak in the back 7 but still not even that weak.
this is the type of team we really need a rodgers to get a win on

i mean thats pretty clear we should PA more. zach has a good fake, breece is a focal point of Ds and they usually stack the boxes.

It was clear he was done prior to this season, which is why it was an asinine signing before he ever played a snap for the Jets. Cook's numbers had notably declined over the last 2 years, and RBs don't generally get better as they age. He was trending downward for 2 years at a position that usually trends downward sharply at his age and we signed him anyway like idiots.

there is always some GM or coach who thinks they can fix a player or squeeze more gas out of a player

Think you’re right. I’m just hoping that he’s not Completely done and we can get more out of him than what we’ve gotten, hence my deadline
