darnold had less to work with but still produced here and there. at least with darnold you'd know that a few times a game we'd move the ball well. he just turned it over alot. with zach even with more talent around him, he cna't move an offense at this point. he's paralyzed in the pocket and playing indecisive. at least sam let it fly and hung in there to make throws. zach can't he has to run out
lol lot of revisionist history here but I’ll let ya drag Zach down. Yes he’s done himself no favors but Sam literally had the Jets in the same boat when he was starting.
The problem is that this Jets organization does NOT know how to develop QBs. Unfortunately, Darnold had a horrible head coach to boot. The root of the whole problem with this organization starts at the top. Woody Johnson has NO business owning a football team. He is clueless about football and how to run one. Throwing money out there but not hiring the brightest brains that know how the game is played.
SD couldn't stay healthy, didn't make anyone around himself better, and regressed during his time. ZW plays scared, makes those around him worse, and has generally looked terrible at all times. ZW in short is not a NFL player.
Man, I hope I am wrong, but hopefully in a few years we're not asking the question, "Was Zach Wilson ever THIS bad?"
In his 2nd season here darnold put up 3000 plus yards and a 62 percent completion rate with Robbie Anderson as his no 1 Zach will never come close to this. If we have those numbers this year or last year we are no doubt talking playoffs
Sam had better performances but he did cost us capital to obtain. If the Colts had turned us down then we might of ended up with Allen. We'd probably still have caused him to bust but it would of kept him out of the Jills hands.
Darnold is a milquetoast. No leadership ability. Once he made that “ghost” comment, out loud during a game in front of his teammates, he was finished. And is still throwing off his back foot. Comparing him to Wilson is like trying do decide what’s better, syphillis or gonorrea
Zach is probably worse but that's not saying much. Darnold left here and never amounted to anything so we can't say it was the wrong decision. Both were just awful, awful draft picks.
Could've kept Darnold and taken the 3 first rounders that went to Miami instead. Instead we blew all the draft capital on Zach Wilson, while Miami runs the division. Only thing that could make that mistake worse was heading into this season without a viable backup (Miami got that as well). Has to be the worst mismanagement of the QB position in franchise history.........and that's saying a lot with this franchise. None of this is hindsight either..
That is true but imo the years Sam was here was he was surrounded by the least talented Jets teams of the last 20+ years. I bet most people can't even name a single receiver he was throwing to then and its only been a few years.
I said to keep Darnold. This Board was like 90-95% trade him and draft Zach or Fields. Daniel Kelly nailed Zach Wilson 100%. It's on the record. He said he had BUST written all over him and he told you WHY. Nobody listened.
Daniel Kelly is an actual crazy person. This was his 2022 mock draft. https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/mock-drafts/2022/si-2022-daniel-kelly?date=2022-04-17 I tried to find his 2021 mock draft but instead found a screed he wrote about Jesus. And he thought Tebow was a franchise QB. In 2021. https://nfldraftdiamonds.com/2021/10/tim-tebow-10/
Darnold was pretty bad but Zach Wilson is just hot garbage. I don't think I've ever seen a NFL QB worse than Zach Wilson. Quarterbacks went 1-3 overall in that year's draft and 2 of them turned out to be complete busts.
