I don't even need to see the list of available QBs. Any person on it who can draw breath and has a pulse and is an upgrade over what we have. Pick one, sign them, and get them ready for Denver.
Just as a sanity check-- Carr got hurt today, Garoppolo doesn't look great against Pittsburgh tonight, and Trevor Lawrence looks meh. Meanwhile, Kenny Pickett, CJ Stroud, Dobbs, and Minshew all getting the job done. What is the calculus?
Carr will probably miss games but not the season. Garoppolo is decent but nothing special. Lawrence looks like he might end up going down that path which for him is disappointing. Pickett is still bad (though he just had a game better than any in Zach's career!), Stroud may be the answer for the Texans, Dobbs is still a journeyman backup (though he just had a game better than any in Zach's career!), and Minshew while not great is better than at least 10 of the league's starters. Does that cover it?
It's like saleh thinks we are all idiots and don't know what our eyes tell us. it's so obvious but yet these two schmucks dont want to admit they f'ed up on the 2nd overall pick.
They are getting killed, and will be all day. If they don't sign someone this week, I'm ready to move on from the GM and HC. My post game pissyness is over, and I still feel that way
Earth to Joe Douglas… are you awake? Looking like another week where he doesn’t bring in a QB soon it won’t matter, at 1-5 who cares. Dereliction of duty
Sounds about right. Also, one week lightning in a bottle is very real in the nfl. The jets are all about it. Win that one game that they never should have, then kick everyone right off the highest cliff the week after.
If this continues, they will lose the rest of the team. Even with a bad OL a better QB could still win games here. The defense is good, and G. Wilson and Hall give the Jets some nice playmakers on offense. They need some production from the QB position and Wilson gives them nothing.
I'm doubting this narrative--if its true then JD and RS are just sellouts for a salary--I have to think at least 1 of them would stand up and say enough even if it gets them fired. So I think its really Salah who's making the ZW decision and he's not being forced.
I dont think so. Saleh was done with Zach Wilson last year. He desperately wants to play a better QB but Joe Douglas isn't giving him one
JD and RS risking their jobs for ZW..... absolutely ridiculous. The kid is done, go out and get a veteran and get them ready for Denver.
ok--but there's more to the story than that. If Saleh really doesnt like Zach is he also being forced to bench Boyle? Boyle looked way better in preseason--he never got a chance against the 2's tho. And everyone was saying he was better because he knew Hackett's system--YEAH EXACTLY!! So why sit him now? Also the sheer amount of resources being put toward ZW could have been put toward Boyle development. So is it possible Saleh is getting told (and following thru) to play ZW no matter what and he's just going along with it? And what's with Saleh insulting Boyle on national TV? ZW gives us the better chance to win? WTF does that say about Boyle--he must really fucking suck--Saleh is a two faced guy I'm afraid.
Boyle is horrible though. He is literally only in the NFL because he is Hackett/Rodgers' friend. He is not up to the standard of an NFL QB that starts a regular season game. Saleh probably says "Wilson gives us the best chance to win" because sadly it is true. Joe Douglas put him in this situation. An NFL caliber QB should've been brought in weeks ago --- Last year Saleh was playing anyone he could except Wilson: White, Flacco, Streveler. You gonna tell me a year later he is now a ride or die Zach Wilson guy? (you aren't and he's not.) If they brought in someone, anyone, Saleh would be thrilled to let that guy play instead of Wilson
you clearly havent Seen any preseason game. Boyle was better than ZW. Even the Stats you may google proves this
