A good question--here's the answer. Douglas and Saleh WILL NOT admit that Zach Wilson was a waste of the number 2 overall pick. Pure and simple.

F'ing Arizona Cardinals signed a street free agent QB who is playing competent-ish football and our 2nd overall pick QB is still worse than that. JD not signing a legitimate backup QB is my biggest criticism of him this off season. If they wanted to redshirt Zach and carry on the extreme unlikelkihood he can be an NFL QB, they should have made him their 3rd string QB. He may well be the worst backup QB in the league too and on an otherwise decent team. From how he played down the stretch this year, making him QB2 was unfair to the team and honestly to Zach. He probably needed to legit redshirt Hey maybe he'll pull a Geno Smith and put it together one day but he's never looked like a legitimate NFL QB

I'm starting to think that Bruce Coslet and Dick Steinberg were geniuses because they moved on from QB Browning Nagle after just 1 year of watching Browning Nagle stink--Nagle's terrible 1992 season.

I get it, this is really frustrating. But I don't think it's fair to the coaching staff: we came close to winning and probably would have gotten blown out if we let Zach throw. Reminds me of when Bowles kept running McCown/Petty out there and refused to play Hackenberg. You just can't let Zach throw the ball; he doesn't have it any more than if you took some random D1 quarterback and stuck him on an NFL field.
You can't fire Saleh for playing Zach of his own accord when his only other option is Boyle. This is on Douglas.
