The only positive to this situation is that Brown has been out all week so the line they've been practicing with all week is what we'll see out there today. Still not ideal but at least they've gotten a week together.
The biggest positive is that Duane is on IR and not playing LT. I hope that forces JD and Saleh to do something that might actually work instead of handing the most important spot on OLine to the guy who was finished a year ago based on previous accomplishments and not on current merit.
Maybe the Jets will just put a tackling dummy at LT until Brown gets back. It’s Browns job so Saleh doesn’t want to hurt his feelings.
Robert Saleh is Ted Lasso. My wife told me this after she watched a few episodes of HK. hate to say it lol
This coaching staff should have been playing this OL combo all a summer as opposed to waiting on Duane Brown to be healthy. That decision low key tanked the season.
? it was a freak landing on the ankle . He held the ball too long. We’re 1-1, the season just started.
Rodgers getting hurt is what tanked the season. Now if you want to say it wouldn't have happened had Becton been at LT, then I think that's a stretch.
Who knows, but the Oline could have used an entire training camp to gel. Making wholesale changes on OL in week 3 is tough
Our OLine was so good that the CS figured they didn't need the preseason to gel. Past results are not indicative of future performance. Same for our HoF QB. This is the leadership group that's supposed to take us to the next level. Buena Suerte with that shit..
Not saying I agree or disagree but the entire league has moved towards not really playing anyone meaningful snaps in the preseason. That’s why the first couple weeks are usually pretty sloppy league-wide.
Some teams have that luxury, some don't. We didn't. Now our OLine is in shambles trying to work together as a unit now instead of working on it when the games didn't count.
Was thinking about this last night as well. We shouldn't have relied on a 38 year old Duane Brown who is just hanging on to get a pay check. Should have looked at what we had in training camp and made this change after we realized Brown wasn't going to be ready in time and given them a chance to develop. Brown could have been a good rotational back up similar to Turner. I guess we'll find out today. Lets see if Zach gets more than 3 seconds to throw the ball.
Still can’t believe they were going to bank on rodgers behind that line. What a short sighted bunch of fools. Only saving grace is that it happened in week one, if it happened later, it may have actually made it impossible for him to return until late 2024,2025… which may have equaled stupid jets force Aaron Rodgers retirement .
