Lance was like that and Dallas traded 4th for him. Besides, it matters a lot that Zach is on the team now and knows the offense. It takes time to learn that. I think JD is waiting to see how he does , how the team does, and how other teams do as some good QBs might become available. Right now teams are not willing to give their back-ups yet before they know what direction their team going. Taking a Foles/Wentz is an option, of course too, just not exciting as potential trade for a good #2 on another team that may be available in a couple of weeks should Zach fail. I actually think JD will make a move soon.
Yeah but they were smart enough to realize he is a bust and get any value for him, the Jets are stupid and keep trotting out the bust they drafted and refuse to admit failure. This is why the Jets are a joke of a organization and Sanfran makes superbowl runs on a regular basis. san fran- "Trade 3 1sts for a bust no biggy lets trade him and move and continue to make superbowl runs Jets- Draft a bust, says disrespectful things to his team vs Ne, gets booed out of the stadium vs Jacksonville and got replaced by a cfl quarterback, has shown absolutely nothing to warrant him being a starting qb in the league, keep starting the guy!!!
They got lucky with Purdy, who is starting for them. Unfortunately our OLine got our starter hurt for the whole year and we are playing a back-up. Also, may I remind you that their back-up is also a Jets top 3 pick, who busted.
To be fair, Rodgers Achilles was going to pop regardless. And he didn't throw the ball on the cut block. So not sure our OL got him hurt. Rodgers was shook with the MetLife pressure to start the MNF. He held the ball too long. Rodgers even said it himself. Everyone should be asking him why he didn't throw the ball. Problem with Rodgers he thinks he's young guy and can run around these streets. Go get married have some kids and act like a real adult like most men and franchise QBs his age.
Cut block actually has to be a block. Not falling over like a doofus without as much as slowing the DE down. Rodgers saw a bigger play developing. He though he has slightly more time and could make a bigger play I think to Uzomah. If Brown actually executed the cut block he would make a much bigger play. Unfortunately he did not. If it were someone else at LT who executed the block, we would not be having this conversation. And it wasn't some unfortunate rare miss by Duane. He was atrocious both games and should not have been starting.
Rodgers is not spin moving or juking anyone. Brady, Manning and Brees would just go down at this point in their career on sacks like that.
they should've brought in that Book kid this week. He was on the Patriots practice squad last week they could've at the very least grilled him for info
Who in their right mind would say yes to this job? You know you're gonna get crushed or running for your life on every drop back. You also know you got a complete moron as an OC. There's just not enough money JD can offer anyone to take this job. Kinda like getting a job offer for mine clearing in the Ukraine.
They did get lucky, but I think it’s clear the 49ers weren’t going to start Lance regardless if they didn’t find Purdy. Even if that meant starting Darnold or some other scrap heap QB.
We started Darnold too a couple of years ago... To his credit he did help win two games the entire year which robbed us of Lawrence.
Trace McSorely on Jets radar? https://www.yardbarker.com/general_...y_valley_for_white_out_game/s1_17286_39292552
C'mon PG! You're a better poster than this. Taken out of context, of course there's no defending this, but of course in real life you can't just cherry pick the things that support your POV (but then again, "real life" is suspended here on TGG). The reasons for Zach's admitted struggles have been well documented and discussed, and while he is not absolved of all blame, most of it falls on the Jets for failing to give him the support Douglas promised him on Draft Night...in fact, they did the opposite up until this year, and not surprisingly he's showing improvement.
Is this best QB available thread or worst QB available? If the later, then McSorley fits right in. I thought the idea was to upgrade QB room, not to downgrade from Boyle.
