He's currently 3rd on the depth chart and doesn't have much game experience. He's not in the "protect" category yet.
In regards to Mitchell I do not see him getting pushed around at least not in that clip….am I missing something?
Boyle has thrown 3 TD passes in his career and has a passer rating of 54.5. I think there is an "Anyone but Zach" syndrome in play here. The guy sucks. PS player at best.
Faria: Joe Tippmann was graded as the 8th best player on the field Thursday night by PFF. 68.2 score with his pass-blocking grade being the best. #Jets
@TheJetPress: Some notable #Jets PFF grades: • Zach Wilson: 69.8 • Mekhi Becton: 69.3 • Joe Tippmann: 68.2 (82.9 run block!) • Max Mitchell: 55.5 • Jermaine Johnson: 62.2 • Will McDonald: 45.5
@TheJetPress: Mekhi Becton, Joe Tippmann, and Max Mitchell combined to allow 0 pressures on 33 pass-block reps last night. Tippmann accounted for 24 of those 33 pass-block reps. All three earned PFF pass block grades above 78.0. Very promising.
An area of concern was the lack of push by the offensive line on short yardage runs, also Abanikanda may not have the power for short yardage runs. Hopefully the final starting line and RBS do a better job in short yardage run situations. Pass blocking was good overall.
Hardly. Winning teams aren't built by players and coaches who don't care. They need to hate losing any time, any game. That's the attitude that championship teams have.
I understand that, but as I said to PJ4Ever, the CS should care about winning. Championship teams have the attitude that EVERY game is important, that they never want to lose. They don't have a nonchalant attitude. One can still evaluate players when one is trying to win the game, and probably evaluate them better, because then they can see which players really have the fight, the desire, and who never quit. If the CS doesn't care if they win, that attitude filters down to the players. This time of year is when the attitude is set/determined. If nothing else, have some damn pride. Two Jets are going into the HOF at the same time. How often has that happened? If nothing else, bust a gut winning the game for them.
You've changed my mind. Saleh sucks for not putting Rodgers and Wilson in late to win the game. Fucking loser.
What was the point of bringing Boyle here? Didn't we already have a backup scrub on the roster? The way its looking, perhaps we should only carry 2 QB's and use that extra roster spot on a need.
Last night it looked like that was the case. I was having a hard time figuring out why Rodgers loves Hackett so, and Hackett is considered to be such a great teacher and so creative.
Very mature. Saleh didn't have to put Rodgers or Wilson in the game to try to win. Better play calling would definitely have helped.
I think short yardage situations is gonna be a problem for us. We don't have a bruiser back and the O-line is suspect. If I was the OC... I'd stuff Nick Bawden in there.
He is known for being a great lead blocker but doesn't have much of a history of running the ball even in college. If I am the Jets, I am trying every RB, TE, DL, LB in that role in practice.
