Is it a common occurrence this camp? I just remember last year there were tweets or articles saying he did XYZ great. It and common to have a lot of fluff this time of year. I hope he's killing it, I just won't believe it until I see it in a game.
The thing is, it's a small positive sign, re: Zach. Obviously, the best thing that could happen, is a light going on for him, & a mature 25-ish Zach becomes the heir to AR. So many speak of accuracy, etc, as the issue... for me it's consistency. I've seen signs of life from Zach numerous times, but it was always short-lived. My hope is that all the crap in his head, that made him tentative & tight, will disappear, as the stench of our previous wonder-boy OC dissipates. The immature egos that infected the offense, have all been purged, in favor of mature experienced leaders. Even Corey Davis seems to have his head on straight, after going through a stressful off-season, wondering where he'd be playing. Watching this O develop, with the young talent infused with ripe battle-tested vets, is gonna be fun to watch... now that I've got over my disappointment in management changing to a win-now philosophy, from building a sustained winner. Still hoping there's a trade in the works, to replenish some future draft picks... .
Zach Wilson has reportedly looked like a “different QB” since Aaron Rodgers arrived. Wilson is reportedly playing with a “different confidence” than he’s had in previous seasons. Robert Saleh (Jets HC) has reportedly been “impressed” with Wilson’s improved ability at stepping up in the pocket. Saleh has also been “wowed” with some of Wilson’s red zone throws. It may be a new ERA for the Jets second overall pick
It's too soon to tell, and the true test will be regular season game action, but from the reports Zach has improved the way I thought he would with AR here. It's clear to me (and I know also to you) how much confidence - having it or not - impacts how a player performs. Losing one's confidence can make a player seem inept, which is what those who want no part of ZW see. But during his first two years there were games and even some stretches of games where Zach played well, even if he did make mistakes, and especially considering he was being asked to play a style of QB that didn't suit his strengths. If he stays healthy, I believe people are going to see the Zach Wilson that Douglas saw when he drafted him.
It also kinda helps too that, at least for now, there’s no pressure on him anymore. Most people expect him to suck and be out of the league soon, so there’s really nowhere else to go but up. (I’m not one of those people btw, I agree with Colorado wholeheartedly.)
Yes. It took me a long time to get into this thread. Once I did, I posted quite a few things from Twitter that I thought posters here would like to see.
Unfortunately, the mods had to disable Twitter posts. The tweets were causing the threads to either not load at all or take 5-10 minutes to fully load in. Hopefully it's something that can come back soon but we'll see.
