There was a leak on Twitter the other day taken from the Jets facility: And now Woody tweeted a picture of himself wearing a (photoshopped?) cap with the 1980s logo (Tweet ID is 1683265928727875585): So looks like the throwbacks could be on the way. This would put the Jets in with teams like the Dolphins who have throwbacks way better than the current jerseys.
Actually a really funny story behind all of this and how it leaked. The kid who took the video and leaked that image you have above was the step son of the guy who was doing the Jets photoshoot on the first day of camp. He took the video of just the entire area not really noticing that the throwbacks were behind that curtain and it leaked. Jets twitter got wind of it and saw it and then pieced it all together and matched the #s.
I’d prefer the Namath throwbacks but I’m very glad to see this. Hopefully the first step towards retiring the current uniforms. In terms of your last sentence, every AFL teams throwbacks are better than the currents.
I like them, but it's not the same Kelly Green anymore, or for whatever reason the colors don't look the same since Nike started making the jerseys
The Jets need to go back to their classic look and lose the current uniforms. These uniforms suck. IMHO.
Whoever designed the new uniforms had no vision whatsoever. The unis are as bland as the stadium the team plays in. Maybe they got these at a discounted price. Going back to the 80's era unis would be a huge step forward. Updating the Namath era unis would also be a nice touch. Just under no circumstances hire the design team that came up with today's version. They suck.
It's amazing how it's not a major difference, yet those logos are worlds better than the ones we have on the current helmet.
