I don’t think the roster is perfect but I don’t see any glaring holes or any major upgrades available atm. We wanted Campbell but got Jefferson when he went to ATL. We wanted Cox but signed Woods after he stayed in Philly. I’m just trying to understand your position. My understanding is that Woods and Jefferson replace the need for Rankins on running and pass downs respectively. while Clemons and JFM can also be moved inside also on passing downs. I’m looking for clarity on what role this person would play.

Writers: what a great signing. Still plays at a high level and fills a big need. Jets fans: will he even make it out of camp?
Ok we’ll see, but these fat guys crap out early. Which writers have called it a “great signing” anyway? That seems overdramatic even for a decent rotational lineman
I see we’re back in the echo chamber where anything that isn’t sunshine and rainbows flying out of a Jets fan mouth gets mocked relentlessly.
Asking if one of the most durable DT in the league still playing at a high level will make it out of camp is highly mockable.
seriously. Al Woods has been cut by 6 different teams but I’m way off base for questioning if the Jets will also cut him
He’s also played at least 12 games every year since 2012. You are way off base for questioning if the Jets will cut him. In April he was labeled “durable and valuable” only making your point even worse. His size hasn’t hindered him and teams value him.
He’s played less than 50% of the snaps every year in his career except 2017 and 2021. Both of those years were at 52%. He’s not exactly an iron-man. He’s been durable for the amount he plays which will be similar here, but comment was more about the overall tone that goes on around here when we win the off-season.
This user interface of this site needs to be updated. I think traffic will go through the roof, if they make that move
Well you ended up making my point by the second part of your post but if you think there’s a rainbows and sunshine echo chamber around here, start reading more threads I guess. You’d think the world is ending because we missed on Broderick fucking Jones.
I suppose one could argue that if signing Wood is considered a rainbows and sunshine echo chamber response by the fans, then freaking out over missing on Cox ( who chose to stay with his SB contender team) and missing on Jones to get AR a classic the sky is falling, SOJ echo chamber reaction.
The team is being configured properly and anyone who take issue isn't really looking at what JD has done this off year. I mean how can you not be optimistic about the team now? What I am really looking forward to is kicking NE and BB asses this year... run up the fking score like he has done to us and smile when he goes to shake hands.
The point is that if off-season criticisms becoming validated during the season were a stat, the Jets fan would probably be leading the league for the past decade. Yet whenever a concern comes up, it’s not debated, it’s mocked. Some of y’all look real stupid trading an actual conversation for that tone.
This still seems like an odd place to bring it up. If you’re going to get on a high horse over wanting to have a conversation about someone labeled “one of the most durable and reliable” potentially being cut because hey anything is possible… then I guess we can start a thread discussing what to do if Sauce goes down because hey… it’s possible.
Agree. Both off season criticisms and compliments will be validated during the season. Unfortunate injuries aside, some will prove true, and some will prove way wrong. So each side of the argument would have both hits and misses. That would apply to the draft, free agency and all roster moves. Mocking either position is really not helpful for any fan that has winning as the number one priority. I would think all fans should root for JD moves to be spot on perfect for the good of the team, regardless of personal preferences, but at least a lot more right than wrong.
