Maybe a new section to these boards should be created so all the Jets fans that didn't live these moments can watch we all saw. Perhaps there is one? I am not aware of one, though. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
This thread sent me down a rabbit hole of old games. I just watched the 41-0 Colts game again. Such good times. I still can't believe we did that. I can't find the first Jets game I ever watched though, which is the last game of 2001 against the Raiders. If anyone can find it, please hook me up. Games at Shea bring back memories. You want another Shea classic. 1981 Dolphins at Jets. Jets win in the final seconds. The crowd went wild at the end.
Here's the thread setup for old games... I had posted Supe III, but it's probably gone. If someone knows a free site that stores for more than 30 days, post a link, & I'll re-up it. https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/vintage-jets-games.98148/ .
There are tons of old Jets games on utube one of them dating back to 1975 vs Buffalo. CBS seems to have had alot of their broadcasts preserved vs NBC which is why you can’t find alot of the Jets games from the late 70s. However in the last few weeks there has been alot of weekly highlight videos posted of 1970s games basically a mix of network footage from the same week of all the different games being played. The Jets broadcasts are in a few of these albeit just a few minutes or one or two highlights of network footage ….for instance I found week 5 of 1976 which showed several highlights from most games of network footage. It showed two plays from the NBC broadcast of the Bills @ Jets including a game tying punt return by Buffalo and then the subsequent game winning FG by Pat Leahy with a little circle on the lower left of the screen added by NBC in an attempt to show Lou Holtz’s reaction to his first NFL win. He showed absolutely no emotion by the way lol…. But very interesting.
I was at this game. Barkum scored right in front of me sitting in Loge Section 2 Row J. Surely one of me favorite Shea moments. Strangers hugging each other jumping up and down. (In '81 men didn't hug it out yet)
