This guy has elite traits, elite production, elite measurables, and plays a premium position. The only knock on him is that he’s an older prospect. I can’t believe people are complaining about this.
he started football late so he’s relatively fresh to football. Also just saw the Jets were gonna take Gibbs at 15
If we play with alot of leads this year. This kid will see the field plenty and this pick will look a whole lt better by the middle of the year. Some will say BuT lOoK aT tHe LacK oF SaCkS but he will make an impact if he works hard
conclusion they haven't worked out? the conclusion is salah wants 4 edge guys to rotate. lawson and huff are on 1 years contracts. Refer back to 2017-2019 49ers use of draft picks and FAs
This is the year where we see what Saleh does defensively because now he gets the weapons he believes he needs to better fit his defensive schemes. Whatever that is, JD and Saleh knows more than heck of a lot than we do. Like the pick or not we’re just going to just wait and see what happens during the season and give Saleh another shot. I continue to trust him.
Maybe it's a different understanding of how I think resources should be allocated. Granted I'm not the HC, nor do I have the experience to really argue that Saleh is wrong, but as a fan I see last year investing two premium picks in pass rushers, and now another one. That's three premium picks for what is a part time position in Saleh's scheme. I hope it works, but I'm skeptical. And here's the thing that's chapping my ass: I've been hoping that our OL gets better, especially under Douglas who was an OL in college and has worked for teams that value OL highly, and yet here we are again with major questions still about the OL. In short, these professionals had better know what they're doing, but just because they're paid a lot doesn't mean they do. See, Maccagnan, M. for recent reference.
Two older Edges now in the 1st round in two years. Older means that if they work out they will be almost impossible to negotiate with on a reasonable basis because they're thinking only one more deal after first deal. Marcus Maye Syndrome.
Picking 15 in the draft where you just signed Rogers and your strength of your team is defense, and you pick my 27th ranked player is not a positive response from me. Is McDonald a good player and a first round talent. Yes he is. But to not improve your offense with a top rated wideout, TE or getting the number 1 center is just dumb. If you were to go defense go safety or even CB. But offense you needed to improve. grade c-
Saw this kid play when Iowa State came to play in Vegas a few years ago.. hard too gauge if he's any good based on a game against UNLV
